1--What is the title of your latest release?
CONCRETE EVIDENCE
2--What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book?
On the family’s Brazos River Ranch in Texas, Avery Elliott helps run her grandfather’s commercial construction business. Raised by Senator Elliott, Avery has never doubted her grandfather is a man of integrity and faith until the day she finds him standing with a gun over the body of a dead man. To make matters worse, Avery just discovered a billing discrepancy for materials supposedly purchased for the construction of the Lago de Cobre Dam.
Desperate for answers, Avery contacts FBI Special Agent Marc Wilkins for help. As Marc works to identify the dead man, threats toward Avery create a fresh sense of urgency to pinpoint why someone wants to silence her. To make matters worse a hurricane is approaching threatening lives and property.
3--How did you decide where your book was going to take place?
I wanted a bigger-than-life setting in my beloved Texas. That meant a big ranch. My husband and I drove around the Brazos River area until we found not only the perfect ranch but also the perfect spot for a fictitious dam.
4--Would you hang out with your protagonist in real life?
Absolutely! Avery is smart and witty. She also loves coffee and horses. We’d get along great.
5--What are three words that describe your protagonist?
Witty, Stubborn, loving
6--What’s something you learned while writing this book?
A whole lot about dam construction.
7--Do you edit as you draft or wait until you are totally done?
I’m a pantster and I edit as I go along.
8--What’s your favorite foodie indulgence?
Warm apple cobbler with a walnut streusel topping and topped with vanilla ice cream – the lactose-free type. Oh, at least two cups of dark-roasted, black coffee.
9--Describe your writing space/office!
Three walls are surrounded by tall, white bookcases (filled). A huge window for sunshine and nature. My desk is a traditional library table painted white, and a white chandelier hangs above my big screen. It’s all me with photos of grandkids, FBI and ATF cups and caps, plants, and lots of turquoise.
10--Who is an author you admire?
Jerry Jenkins
11--Is there a book that changed your life?
#1 is the Bible. #2 is Little Women. The Bible showed me how to reach eternity, and Little Women’s character Jo was/is a lot like me.
12--Tell us about when you got “the call.” (when you found out your book was going to be published)/Or, for indie authors, when you decided to self-publish.
My husband dared me to write a book in 1996, so I did, and it was released in 1998. Every release is as thrilling as the first one.
13--What’s your favorite genre to read?
Romantic Suspense and Thriller/Suspense
14--What’s your favorite movie?
Grape tomatoes – Yes, it’s weird.
15--What is your favorite season?
Fall! I love the colors, tastes, smells, sights, and sounds of everything fall.
16--How do you like to celebrate your birthday?
Well, it’s December 28th, and most people are partied out. What I enjoy is a lovely couple of nights at a hotel property to rest and relax.
17--What’s a recent tv show/movie/book/podcast you highly recommend?
Top Gun Maverick
18--What’s your favorite type of cuisine?
Mediterranean and #2 is Tex/Mexican

Roast my own coffee beans, cook, bake, read, spend time with my husband, and enjoy the grandkids.

A romantic suspense novel about a female FBI agent who witnesses her brother sacrificing his life to save hers.
