2--What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book?
After a harrowing attempt on a judge’s life at the courthouse, Deputy US Marshals Madison James and Jonas Quinn are tasked with finding a missing woman and an endangered child in connection to the murder of the judge’s wife. 3--How did you decide where your book was going to take place?
I typically chose the setting from a place I am familiar with. With this series, I decided to explore the state I grew up in through this series. Washington is an extremely diverse region, from forested mountains to rugged coast lines, to remote islands.
4--Would you hang out with your heroine in real life?
Definitely! She’s strong, adventurous, and cares about those around her.
5--What are three words that describe your hero?
Honorable, handsome, vulnerable
6--What’s something you learned while writing this book?
There are some stunning places in Washington I can’t believe I haven’t visited like Ruby Beach and the Olympic National Park.
7--Do you edit as you draft or wait until you are totally done?
Edit as I go, then do a final edit. (or two!)
8--What’s your favorite foodie indulgence?
Chips and dip - and pretty much any kind of chips and dip will do.
9--Describe your writing space/office!
I finally have an office of my own for the first time in twenty plus years of writing!! Bookshelves (of course) a comfy couch and chair, Eifel tower lamp, desk with space, and favorite photos on the wall.
10--Who is an author you admire?
I wouldn’t even know where to start, both with fiction and non-fiction! So many good authors out there who help me aspire to be better with each book.
11--Is there a book that changed your life?
Reading Dee Henderson years ago introduced me to the kind of books I knew I wanted to write one day. Full of suspense with a growing relationship throughout the story.
12--Tell us about when you got “the call.” (when you found out your book was going to be published)
I remember being surprised at the quick turnaround because typically publishing decisions can be slow. This was a series that I was really excited about writing, so when I got the go ahead, I was thrilled!
13--What’s your favorite genre to read?
Romantic suspense of course!
14--What’s your favorite movie?
I love a sappy romance for movies, so I’ll say Ever After.
15--What is your favorite season?
Fall, because it’s not too hot and not too cold.
16--How do you like to celebrate your birthday?
Hmm. . .I’ve come to the age where I’m content to skip birthday celebrations. J And if I do, it’s usually just with family.
17--What’s a recent tv show/movie/book/podcast you highly recommend?
I’m about done reading Fatal Code by Natalie Walters and it’s definitely a great read that will release in May!
18--What’s your favorite type of cuisine?
That’s hard. Tex-Mex or Indian
19--What do you do when you have free time?
I love taking photos, especially of wildlife, and trying out new recipes.
20--What can readers expect from you next?
A brand-new novella that brings the characters of two of my series together, The Nikki Boyd series, and this US Marshal series called Point Blank! It will release in a box set this spring.
