1--What is the title of your latest release?

JACK OF ALL TRADES (March 29th 2022)

https://books2read.com/JackofAllTrades

2--What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book?

When the railway arrives in Millcastle with its brash contractor and roving band of navvies many in the town are up in arms. Can Noah Hepworth convince the townspeople to invest in him and more importantly, can he persuade the very ladylike Miss Alice Collins to view his courtship with a favorable eye?

3--How did you decide where your book was going to take place?

It’s part of a series set in the cradle of the industrial revolution in a fictional town called Millcastle and follows the loves and lives of the townsfolk and the local gentry. It’s like Pride and Prejudice meets North and South.

4--Would you hang out with your heroine in real life?

Definitely. She’s very calm and restful.

5--What are three words that describe your hero?

Brash, loud, very good with his hands.

6--What’s something you learned while writing this book?

How railway tunnels were constructed.

7--Do you edit as you draft or wait until you are totally done?

I edit as I go so, I’m 90% done when I get to the end.

8--What’s your favorite foodie indulgence?

Chocolate truffles

9--Describe your writing space/office!

I have a desk and chair set up on the very wide landing in my current house, but I’d quite like to get back to having my own office.

10--Who is an author you admire?

There are many, but Jane Austen and Nora Roberts come to mind.

11--Is there a book that changed your life?

I read Emma Holly and a little light bulb went off and I thought “I want to write books like that” so I did.

12--Tell us about when you got “the call.” (when you found out your book was going to be published)

It was an email-which ended up in my spam, so it was lucky I was obsessively checking it back in the day. It was from an e-publisher back in 2005 and I admit that I wasn’t very sure how you accessed an e-book back then, because there weren’t many e-readers and no kindle anything. I was also shocked because it was a 27K erotic historical romance story in first person that I never thought would see the light of day.

13--What’s your favorite genre to read?

Definitely romance

14--What’s your favorite movie?

Singin In The Rain

15--What is your favorite season?

Fall, definitely. I missed seasons when I lived in Hawaii.

16--How do you like to celebrate your birthday?

A nice meal out with my family, chocolate, and hopefully a bunch of flowers.

17--What’s a recent tv show/movie/book/podcast you highly recommend?

Ted Lasso, hands down my favorite thing for ages

18--What’s your favorite type of cuisine?

Italian, followed by Japanese

19--What do you do when you have free time?

I love to knit, I read, I paint watercolors and I walk my two dogs.

20--What can readers expect from you next?

I write lots of different series at the same time, so this year will be about novellas, Millcastle historical romance, Science Fiction Romance and some reissues of older books. I will be starting a new contemporary cowboy series in January with Three Cowboys And A Baby that I hope everyone will enjoy! JACK OF ALL TRADES by Kate Pearce

Millcastle #4

Jack of All Trades

When the brash railway contractor Elijah Hepworth and his rowdy crew of navvies arrive in Millcastle the town is divided between those who embrace the possibility of change and those who want things to remain the same. Alice Collins, who has recently come to live at Grafton Hall, knows which side she’d prefer to be on, but Mr. Hepworth obviously has other ideas. When the comfortable, safe existence Alice hoped for is snatched from her grasp, will she accept an offer from a man who never claims to be a gentleman, but who might be what she needed all along?

About Kate Pearce

Kate Pearce

Kate Pearce was born and bred in England. She spent most of her childhood being told that having a vivid imagination would never get her anywhere. After graduating from college with an honors degree in history, she ended up working in finance and spent even more time developing her deep innner life. After relocating with her husband and family to Northern California in 1998, Kate fulfilled her dream and finally sat down to write her first novel. She writes in a variety of romance genres, although the Regency period is definitely her favorite.
