Re: Romancing the Ranger (9:58am March 18, 2016):

I love music! I choose the genre & artists to suit my
mood or to suit what I need to accomplish. I've had
certain music played during MRIs and even in the OR more
than once prior to surgeries. I have songs/artists that
are on the soundtrack of my life and I cannot imagine a
life without music.

Re: The Courtship of Utopia Miner (11:15pm November 14, 2015):

I read across multiple genres and my favorite is usually
whatever one I'm reading, LOL. I love romance, historical,
contemporary, some paranormal. I also read mystery &
fantasy books, westerns, and women's fiction. About the
only things I don't read are science fiction and erotica.

Re: Murder.com (3:54pm July 15, 2015):

Hm, hard to pick just one favorite. I love Stephanie Plum &
her guys Morelli & Ranger from Janet Evanovich. On tv, I
enjoy Sharon Raydor & her team from Major Crimes.
Murder.com sounds like a great read & I'm looking forward
to reading it.

Re: London Tides (9:32pm June 12, 2015):

I read fiction because it takes me outside my life &
problems, because I can travel via the stories when I
cannot in reality.

Re: Rugged Hearts (5:15pm December 6, 2013):

We've been through a lot, particularly healthwise, so I'm
thankful for family & just the fact we're here & together. We
don't have much, be we do have each other.

Re: The Pieces We Keep (11:50am November 26, 2013):

I too heard that same news story and am so intrigued by
children who have these memories. I love the setting of your
book and reading about WWII era. Thanks for the contest entry.

Re: Wish You Were Here (1:54pm June 27, 2013):

I loved reading about your trips to the library, Amanda. I
remember loving trips to the library & I would always check
out the limit I was allowed & have them all read by the time
my dad would take me on my weekly trip to the library. The
summer before I was in junior high, I read so much the
library gave me access to the adult books as well & I was so
thrilled! That particular summer it was the Cat Who
mysteries that held my attention most of all. I'm thankful
to my parents for encouraging my reading as a child, so that
I'd be a life-long reader. Happy to report at 55, I still
love to read!

Re: The Survivor (10:45pm March 9, 2013):

Agree most important is to be aware of your surroundings.
Another thing I suggest is to always have a plan & think of
what everyday object could be your weapon should you need one.
That was a lesson learned from hard experience. Always lock
doors & look inside your car before getting in.

Re: Bruja Brouhaha (10:56am August 24, 2012):

Hi Rochelle, I've not read your Liz Cooper books but they
sound great & I'd love to win a copy of Bruja Brouhaha!

Re: The King's Mistress (7:55pm December 17, 2011):

Sandy, I loved reading your blog post. I want so badly to
read THE KING'S MISTRESS! Huge fan of your books & the
synopsis of this book sounds wonderful!

Re: Waking Up Dead (12:47pm November 26, 2011):

I'd love to win a copy of WAKING UP DEAD. Congratulations to
you on being so determined to regain the use of your right
hand! I've faced quite a few health challenges over the past
20 years or so & can attest to how much a positive outlook can
get someone through really trying ordeals.

Re: Fall From Pride (10:07am August 20, 2011):

Hi Karen, I only started reading Amish fiction a few months back when a neighbor loaned me a Beverly Lewis book. I was hooked on this fascinating way of life. I'd love to visit one of the Amish commmuniities someday. For me, I think the appeal is the closeness among the community members & how the families truly care for each other. The slower pace of life sounds so very appealing compared to our hectic modern way of life also. I'm looking forward to reading your new book. I have your other books on my tbr shelf.

Re: Demons Are A Girl's Best Friend (1:00pm April 12, 2011):

Hi Linda! I love the witch books! I've always loved all things witchy & your books really caught my eye. I'm looking forward to your newest one!

Re: Angel's Rest (12:18pm March 12, 2011):

Want to read the entire series! Looks wonderful. Loved your post here & it only made me want to read these books even more.

Re: Mercy Kill (12:51pm January 9, 2011):

I like darkness in books because it makes the story more realistic. Life is full of darkness & light, hopefully a balance for each person. Dark things happen, and it makes a far more enjoyable read to see the characters face that darkness & learn/grow and move past it. If they don't then at least it allows the reader to see the motivations for that character.

Re: Unchained (2:09pm July 5, 2010):

I cannot wait to read UNCHAINED! Love this series & your books!

We always had Christmas Dinner on Christmas Eve with my Mom, but since she passed away in 2004, we've really not done that. Now, my hubby & I usually have a burger on that day. It is a lot of work to make all that food for just us, so we don't.

Re: Big Bad Wolf (11:04pm April 10, 2010):

I *hate* when I grab a great sounding book, open it only to find it is part of a series and not even the first book. It's one of my pet peeves.

If I know an author is planning a series, I generally purchase them and will wait until I have at least 3 or 4 to start reading the series. What I really hate is finding a book and it is so far into the series that the beginning books are no longer available.

I also don't like re-worked books. It's particularly annoying if you've already read the previous version and now you're left wondering how much you've missed by not reading it yet again.

Re: Viking in Love (3:03pm February 4, 2010):

I remember when I found your books and glommed all of them. Recently I've been glomming Robyn Carr & Emilie Richards. I'd read Emilie's mysteries, but not her other books, so am going to read her quilting series.

Love reading all these posts, of course it added greatly to my "want" list! LOL

Re: Down By The River (12:25pm January 24, 2010):

OOOOH, love series. I tend to hoard them then have a reading frenzy. I loathe getting a book and discovering that it is in the middle of a series. Makes me feel compelled to go get all the previous titles so I can read them in order. Otherwise I feel as if I've missed out on details I might need or want.

Re: What I Did For Love (11:22am December 29, 2009):

On my favorite list this year are "Twisted Creek" by Jodi Thomas, "Amazon Ink" by Lori Devoti, and all 3 of Betty Hechtman's crochet mystery series.

Re: Spinning Forward (10:29am November 10, 2009):

Terri, I absolutely *love* what you had to say here and think you are a very wise lady. I look forward to reading SPINNING FORWARD and hope there are many more books to come from you!

Re: The Vampire Diaries: The Awakening And The Struggle (12:25pm September 12, 2009):

I enjoy Charlaine Harris' Sookie Stackhouse series of books and like watching TrueBlood, but the HBO series is not much like Ms. Harris' WONDERFUL books. I have to really keep that in mind whether I'm enjoying one of her books or watching the show.

I'd love to see any or all of Dixie Cash's books made into a series. Think it would be hilarious!

Re: Tie Me Down (1:49pm September 4, 2009):

I hope to one day visit New Orleans. I've always wanted to go there. Thanks for the taste of the city.

Your book sounds like a great read!

Re: Dragons Prefer Blondes (1:28pm August 29, 2009):

Paranormal is my favorite genre and I'd love to read all of the featured books. I'd read the phone book if Candace Havens wrote it! I've loved her previous books.

Re: Haunting Beauty (12:51pm August 28, 2009):

I am SO wanting to read Haunting Beauty! From the very first time I read about it in my RT, it has intrigued me.

As to your question, there are definately some things I'd love an opportunity to go back and change. One person I loved *so* much, I'd have given anything to just have one more chance to see him, speak with him. But there are other choices I've made that if undone would affect too many others, so those I'd leave alone. I wouldn't be who I am today if I hadn't gone through those experiences.

Re: Gordath Wood (2:13pm August 22, 2009):

OOOOO, Sara, you just made my "want" list that much longer! I *love* books that pull me in and make me *have* to read them. Woe to the person who interrupts me when I'm engrossed in such a book!

Besides, who cares about a little dust and the dog is very happy that I'm ignoring the fact the carpet needs sweeping.

Re: Dark Hunger (2:43pm August 5, 2009):

Rita, your books sound wonderful and are now on my 'want' list! I *love* the paranormal themed books!

I've been 'visited' by loved ones at the time of (or right after) their passing. On my mom's side of the family the women often 'know' things and I've heard the stories going back several generations. My great-grandmother, my grandmother, and my mom were like that. I am and so is my daughter. My youngest grand-daughter has also said some things that make me think she's the next one to have the gift.

Re: Seeing Red (11:36am July 27, 2009):

Susan, your comments really resonate with me. I still live in the town I grew up in and remember when it was a smaller place. When I was a kid, you could go outside after dark and see the night sky so well, see tons of stars. Now, there is so much light pollution that you have to drive miles out of town to maybe see a few stars. Makes me sad and nostalgic for "the good old days."

Re: Divorced, Desperate and Deceived (11:55am July 21, 2009):

You made me laugh out loud reading your blog here today. I'm going to put your books on my 'buy' list.

Re: Earth Guys Are Easy (7:55pm July 15, 2009):

Congrats on the weight loss, I recently lost a good bit of weight myself and it sure feels great.

I love the music of the late 60's & 70's. We're fortunate here to have a great radio station that plays oldies.

I listen to that station exclusively and they're even on the web, www.98Kool.com and they play the *best* music. Almost every song they play brings me a good memory and a smile to remember the 'good old days.'

If I had to name favorite artists, I'd pick the Beatles, Paul McCartney & Wings, the Carpenters, and K.C. & the Sunshine Band to name just a few, the list is looooong! LOL

Thanks for such a fun and interesting topic today!

Re: By Hook Or By Crook (9:04pm July 13, 2009):

I bought your first book in the series because I want to learn to crochet. My daughter crochets and I got her a copy as well. I'm looking forward to getting the second and third books in the series. Fixed income greatly hampers my book addiction!

Re: Dragons Prefer Blondes (8:30pm July 8, 2009):

I'd pick Batman. I was a big fan of Adam West's portrayal of Batman (I've always liked my men a bit mature ;-) I was a teen at the time.

I do remember watching George Reeves' Superman and enjoyed that as well.

LOVE your books!

Re: Happiness Key (12:16pm June 30, 2009):

Those are deep questions regarding happiness, Emilie. You made me think and you also made me really want to read Happiness Key.

And, no, I think many times we don't recognize happiness when we have it and only miss/recognize happiness when it is gone. Also, we can spend far too long searching for what is right under our nose. Trust me, there are myriad ways to ruin happiness from the very simple to the very complex.

Told you that you made me think!

Re: Dragons Prefer Blondes (5:40pm May 23, 2009):

I guess like the poster above, I fall in the middle. I buy my RT every month and keep a huge notebook of new releases I want to buy & read. But my TBR is ever-growing and I'm always behind. Also I buy & read from the shelves as I come across books & authors that are new to me and look interesting or authors I come across via word of mouth from my DorothyL mystery list I subscribe to or those that friends tell me about. Of course I also scour the 'net, subscribe to blogs, lists, read Fresh Fiction and other sites as well. Nothing like feeding the addiction, hmmm? LOL I need a shirt that reads "Book-a-holic with serious habit", I'm running out of shelf room in my house, but I know that won't stop me! As for what I read first, it is whatever strikes my fancy on any given day, it may be a brand new release I've been drooling to get or I may pull a book out of the TBR, especially if I've been waiting to begin say a trilogy, as I will wait to get all three books in hand so that I can read all three one after the other. That way I don't forget things as I read.

Re: The Infamous Rogue (7:55pm May 14, 2009):

I love reunion romances. I bet there are a lot of folks out there who if able to, would love a chance to reunite with that one great love. A reunion romance gives the next best thing, a chance to read a great story and put ourselves in the heroine's shoes!

Re: Red Kiss (12:00pm May 7, 2009):

Deidre, I went and read the excerpt of BUTTERFLY TATTOO and I am hooked! WOW! I want to read it ASAP! By the way, I do have a butterfly tattoo, has a very special meaning to me.

Re: Sea Lord (4:29pm May 5, 2009):

Virginia, I love your series. I love Fairy Tales and Goddess myths in particular. I agree that women today and young women in particular need empowerment. I have enjoyed all of P.C. Cast's Goddess books as well. There has been a great deal of illness and loss in my life and the lives of many of my loved ones and dear friends, so I love romance novels and the happiness in them. Those who don't read romance novels are really missing out on a great deal of pleasure and happiness. That's a shame, we should all find all the happiness we can in life.

Re: Sunset Bay (10:48pm May 2, 2009):

It is always a pleasure to have an opportunity to get to meet an author at a signing or exchange an email with them via their website or a blog. To me it just makes me enjoy reading their books all the more. If I haven't read their books yet, it would be a good way to get me to go out and buy their books.

Re: The Accidental Human (7:28pm April 12, 2009):

Great question! I have purchased books by authors new to me because of a catchy cover. Likewise I have purchased books with so-so covers by authors because I am familiar with them and always buy their books. Mostly it is the story that sells me on a book, regardless of the cover, although the cover may call out to me and cause me to take a second look.

Re: Paradise Valley (12:39pm April 11, 2009):

I picked up a few books lately: Jodi Thomas' Rewriting Monday, Jeri Smith-Ready's Wicked Game, Sharon Sala's The Warrior. Best movie I've seen lately is The Wrestler starring Mickey Rourke, will be buying that when it's released on dvd on the 21st. Loved it!

Re: Rewriting Monday (8:06pm April 7, 2009):

Oh, yes Jodi, there is an event in my life I'd give everything to go back and rewrite. That event and how it played out has affected every facet of my life every day since.

Re: Red-Headed Stepchild (2:33pm April 1, 2009):

I loved what you had to say about Giguhl, and I remembered reading about your book in RT. Love the title. I'm looking forward to reading it more than ever now!

Re: Kiss Of Darkness (12:15pm March 27, 2009):

All I can say is DROOL!!! And loin cloths too! How nice on a snowy cold day in West Texas. Mmmmmm

Re: Barbie & the Beast (11:52am March 18, 2009):

Your book sounds great! I was a Barbie fiend as a kid, had all the stuff, and I love paranormal books. Your book has been added to my tbr list for April.

Re: Would-Be Witch (1:06pm March 16, 2009):

Favorite fictional place would've been the setting in Marion Zimmer Bradley's Mists of Avalon. Favorite period of time would be to just go back to 1975 when I graduated from high school and make some different choices.

Re: 4 Bodies And A Funeral (8:14pm March 10, 2009):

A neighbor's friend was being attacked by an ex-boyfriend. He had her by her hair, dragging her down the sidewalk, kicking her in the ribs prior to my going outside. She was screaming for help. I went out with my baseball bat. He decided he didn't want to tangle with an angry woman with spiked hair and a baseball bat. I've taken self defense training and wasn't going to allow him to beat on that girl any more. I called 911 while he was leaving the scene in her truck. Turned out he was high on crack and several other illegal drugs. I've since invested in a stun gun that I keep on hand as well as my bat. Never hurts to have a back-up.

Re: Kisses Like A Devil (7:41pm February 26, 2009):

Ireland and England even though I've never been to either place. Ireland because it is land of my ancestors and England because the man who truly was the love of my life was from there and I'd love to see that country.

Re: Between A Rock And A Heart Place (8:30pm February 24, 2009):

Decisions, decisions...I too like the fly on the wall idea. Eagles hold a special place in my heart, so either an eagle or a chihuahua. My chihuahua is so loyal and faithful.

Re: A Perfect Darkness (7:50pm February 23, 2009):

I agree with you Tina, that we all have psychic abilities. I think we just often ignore them or discount them. I too love paranormal themed books and love all your books. Anything you write is on my "auto buy" list!

Re: Ravenous (12:21pm February 19, 2009):

Ravenous just went to the top of my tbr list. I've found so many new authors via Fresh Fiction's blog.
