When I started writing
BENEATH THIS MASK, I honestly had no idea where the
Beneath series
would go. Now that
BENEATH THESE CHAINS
is out in the wild and Iβm hard at work on book four, Iβve been looking back at the common
threads weaved through the series.
The whole concept behind the
Beneath books is that no one is only who they seem on the surface. We
all have secrets, stories, and demons hiding beneath the persona we share with the public. In
order to truly know another person and understand them, you have to look beneath. Itβs so easy
to judge someone else and apply our preconceived notions without bothering to go deeper. I think
thatβs my favorite part about writing this seriesβthat none of the characters are exactly who
they seem to the outside world. I think it reminds me to be less judgmental and more curiousβ
because I want to understand what makes people tick, and Iβm rarely satisfied with surface level
interactions.
Also, if youβve read all of the books in the series, you might have picked up on another common
thread: the importance of giving back. It wasnβt ever intentional on my part, but it seems that
charities and nonprofits have a way of showing up in my books. I think when something is deeply
rooted inside the author, it has a way of finding its way into their writing.
My parents and grandparents volunteered much of their time to different charitable endeavors
during my childhood, and growing up with that kind of behavior instilled in me the need to do
the same. I strongly believe that if I have the means, the time, or the ability, it is my duty
to give back. Several of my characters worked at or started nonprofit organizations aimed at
helping others. As I said earlier, it wasnβt ever intentionalβ¦ it just happened.
As for whatβs nextβ¦ Iβm hard at work on Lucas Titanβs book, and his redemption may be the most
fun Iβve ever had writing. Thereβs nothing I love more than watching my strong, sassy female
characters bring their man to his kneesβall in the name of love.
Happy reading!

Meghan March has been known to wear camo face paint and tromp around in woods wearing mud-
covered boots, all while sporting a perfect manicure. Sheβs also impulsive, easily entertained,
and absolutely unapologetic about the fact that she loves to read and write smut. Her past lives
include slinging auto parts, selling lingerie, making custom jewelry, and practicing corporate
law. Writing books about dirty talking alpha males and the strong, sassy women who bring them to
their knees is by far the most fabulous job sheβs ever had. She loves hearing from her readers

I was raised on the streets, so I know things are rarely as simple as they appearβ especially
this rich girl showing up at my pawnshop demanding a job.
Sheβs the most tempting thing Iβve ever seen, and Iβll be damned if I can make her leave.
Shit just got complicated β¦ but when it comes to her, I want complicated.
Weβre both fighting our own demons, and our only chance at a future is to let go of the past.
But will we be strong enough to break free from beneath these chains?
