Here's FIVE reasons to read the romances labeled "sweet."
5. You can read with the dentist looking over your shoulder.
A reader contacted me asking about the heat level of my latest book because she
was going to have a crown replaced and planned to read my book during the
procedure. However, she didn’t want the dentist to glimpse the words on her
e-reader and become distracted while working inside her mouth. Dental
catastrophe averted with a sweet romance!
4. You can tell your grandma about the book you’re reading and recommend she
read it too.
If your grandma is anything like mine, she is scandalized by the mention of
s-e-x, let alone hearing the explicit details. With a sweet romance, you won’t
offend her sensibilities…and maybe she’ll even share some of her deliciously
sweet romance picks with you.
3. It’s all story all the time.
I’ve read romances—and I bet you have too—where the story action screeches to a
stop so the characters can get it on. In a sweet romance, gratuitous scenes
aren’t an option, so the story action continues to build in every scene toward
that oh-so-satisfying conclusion.
2. You can read what you love.
Small-town? Check. Historical? Check. Urban fantasy, young adult, romantic
suspense? Check, check, check. Whatever your preferred subgenre of romance, you
can find a sweet story guaranteed to give you the love and romance you’re
looking for.
1. There’s no substitute for pure emotion.
Sweet romance is all about the love story and experiencing the high of falling
in love and the heartbreak of believing all is lost, only to throw your heart
and soul into one last chance at happily ever after. Nothing could be sweeter.
Love Him or Leave Him
Connor O'Malley and Becca Sanders were once high school sweethearts, ripped
apart by rumors in the small town of Kortville, Illinois. Connor left to join
the military, and Becca stayed, waiting for her younger brother to graduate so
she could live her dreams of traveling the world. But now that Connor's back as
the town sheriff, Becca finds herself struggling to resist the too–handsome man
who once broke her heart.
Connor loves Kortville—its quaintness keeps at bay the painful memories of
Afghanistan he's sure make him unworthy of any woman, particularly the beautiful
brunette he's always secretly dreamed of a future with. But when a scandal rocks
the town, suddenly Connor and Becca must trust in each other if they want to
weather this storm...and come out on the other side of it together.

I really like your five reasons, especially the dentist! Today's grandmas may be a bit more lively than they let on, who knows what's on their e-readers?
And I completely agree that a book without gratuitous scenes has a good forward narrative. For this reason - and the descriptive element - I enjoy Amish and inspirational books. The main characters have to have a lot in common before they start a relationship.

I love your reasons; they all are great! For me, reading is an outlet to escape
to when all of my world has been turned upside down and I need somewhere to
go to to clear my mind: a place where life is less complicated and there is
hope, happiness and love.
