My fellow vamp writer and internet pal Michelle Rowen's new novel, Fanged and Fabulous is out this week, and I'm excited about getting my grubby gardening hands on the copy that I pre-ordered. The reviews are out for The Unfortunate Miss Fortunes by Jennifer Crusie, Eileen Dreyer, and Anne Stuart, and the trio of writers has scored big. Paula Myers says it's "a laugh-out-loud, super-sexy paranormal romance."

Fans of the Women of the Underworld Series are happy to have Kelly Armstrong's latest book, No Humans Involved, for summer reading. Werewolves, vampires, and ghosts, oh, my! Reviewer Tracy Benniger says that she 'thoroughly enjoyed" this novel and can't wait for the next one.

If you have a taste for a comic vampire mystery, be sure to read the recent review of Jennifer Colt's The Vampire of Venice Beach. Reviewer Rachael Dimond calls the third book in the McAffee twin series as "a fun, hilarious mystery that you can 'sink your teeth into.""

I was delighted to get a rave review for Midnight Brunch from novelist and reviewer HelenKay Dimon. "It's witty and sophisticated," writes HelenKay. "Acosta's voice is so engaging and her heroine so utterly real that the book is hard to put down. The book contains a romance, comedy, mystery and action. In other words, a little something for everyone."

If you enjoy anthologies, you may want to add On the Prowl to your 'to buy" list. This collection from Patricia Briggs, Karen Chance, Sunny, and Eileen Wilks, will be released on August 1. Patricia contributes "Alpha and Omega," a werewolf tale; Eileen pens a psychic tale; Karen imagines an encounter between a Lord of the Fey and a passionate mage; and Sunny's story, 'mona Lisa Betwining," explores the life and love of a human/moonchild loner.

Michele Hauf interviews prolific author Susan Sizemore about world-building in her two series, Laws of the Blood and The Vampire Primes, at Riding with the Top Down. Primal Heat, book number five in the Primes series, comes out this month, and will followed by Primal Desires in August. Susan says, "I'm obviously not the only one who loves to read and write about vampires" look at the wonderful wealth of vampire stories that are available in bookstores these days. I'm in heaven as a reader, and I get to be a part of it as a writer."

Paranormal Romance has an in-depth interview with Chris Marie Green (aka, Crystal Green) about her writing process and her Vampire Babylon series. She explains how her "love of horror and darkness" led her to write The Huntress and her subsequent urban fantasy novels, including the latest, Night Rising. A must read for Chris Marie's fans and an interesting read for those interested in writing a series.

On television, women are being cast to add more sizzle to paranormal series. "Supernatural" will have more romance with two "hot" females as regulars in the cast, according to BuddyTV. "Moonlight," the new series to air on CBS in fall, has just cast Sophia Myles as a smart reporter who gets involved with the vampire P.I. played by Alex O'Laughlin.
