Romance Paranormal | Romance Anthology | Romance Contemporary

Dee, Lizzie and Mare Fortune have been hiding out ever since their parents were murdered 13 years earlier. Now living in Salem's Fork, they've managed a fairly quiet existence without calling attention to their rather unique abilities. All that changes when the men of their dreams show up on their doorstep, more or less, sweeping them off their feet and distracting them with hot, sexy fantasies and promises of dreams come true. It isn't until it's almost too late that the three realize their good fortune might instead be bad karma. For Dee, the eldest Fortune, the arrival of Danny James is bad news. The gorgeous hunk of a man is in town researching the lives of the Little Miss Fortunes and their psychic parents. The threat of an exposé sends Dee flying, literally, to derail Danny's plans. Middle Fortune Lizzie has been upsetting the balance of the universe in her attempts to turn straw into gold. Despite her many attempts, all she ends up with is an amazing collection of shoes and a variety of bunny rabbits. Elric appears in her life, determined to put an end to her haphazard spell casting, and instead decides to help her realize her full potential. Mare, the youngest Fortune, plans to be Queen of the Universe (or Value Video), and when she goes to work at Value Video, there is the man to make it happen. Jude Green is a dead ringer for Jude Law, and he offers Mare the chance of a lifetime. All she has to do is move to New York. Then a blast from her past rides into town. Crash Duncan walked out of her life years ago, but now he's back, and he wants Mare to return to Italy with him. Comparing notes, the sisters realize there can be only one reason for their romantic good fortune. Their Aunt Xantippe, the woman they've been hiding from for the past 13 years, the woman responsible for their parents' deaths, has found them. And what she wants could be the death of them. It's only by joining together and embracing their powers that the sisters can hope to save themselves and the men they love. THE UNFORTUNATE MISS FORTUNES by Jennifer Crusie, Eileen Dreyer and Anne Stuart is a laugh-out-loud, super-sexy paranormal romance. Dee, Lizzie and Mare are fabulous characters, wonderfully amusing and emotionally vulnerable, with a thread of steel running through them, holding them together for a common cause. The men in their lives are fascinating, mysteriously intriguing and sexy! Xantippe is deliciously evil and occasionally sympathetic, and her cohorts are the perfect foils for her wickedness. This is not an anthology, but a single story written by three very talented authors. The individual style of each author shines through in the story, and you'll have fun trying to figure out which author wrote which character. Fans of Crusie, Dreyer and Stuart are in for a unique treat!
