English Trifle

This is a nice desert that is not too heavy after a full Christmas dinner.

You need:

  • Some sponge fingers.
  • A paket of Jello
  • A tin of mixed fruit.

You layer a bowl with the sponge fingers and mixed fruits. Then you pour the jello over the whole thing and put in the fridge until set.

You can top the whole thing with custard, then whipped cream and then sprinkle some 'hundreds and thousands' over the top. In fact, you can top your trifle with whatever you want!!

My mum uses fruit cake and if you want a little 'punch' in it, you can add a dash of sherry to the jello.

It's quite delicious.
