1--What is the title of your latest release?
COLD TRUTH
2--What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book?
When FBI Hostage Rescue Team leader Kurt Montana is sent on an undercover mission, the last thing he expects is to end up on the run with Rowena Smith—a young, scrappy, British librarian with a dangerous secret.
3--How did you decide where your book was going to take place?
I’ve been wanting to set a book in Zimbabwe since I visited in 2016. I needed a locale in Africa, and it was perfect. The country is beautiful. The people are wonderful.
4--Would you hang out with your protagonist in real life?
Yes! 100%
5--What are three words that describe your protagonist?
Competent. Attractive. Protector.
6--What’s something you learned while writing this book?
I discovered a lot about the geography of Mozambique for a couple of people on the run.
7--Do you edit as you draft or wait until you are totally done?
I edit as I go along and then again once I’m done.
8--What’s your favorite foodie indulgence?
chocolate! But non-dairy varieties.
9--Describe your writing space/office!
I have several desks. One for thinking and plotting. One for all the admin work, and a treadmill desk where I do most of my writing. My office is in the downstairs of our open-plan house, which is fine when I’m home alone, and less so when anyone else is in the house.
10--Who is an author you admire?
Nora Roberts. Her work ethic. Her productivity. And the way she stands up for Romance in general.
11--Is there a book that changed your life?
Many books have changed my life so I can’t pick one. From the Silver Brumby series by Elyne Mitchell to Suzanne Brockmann’s The Defiant Hero to Rebecca Yarros’s dragons. I love them all!
12--Tell us about when you got “the call.” (when you found out your book was going to be published)/Or, for indie authors, when you decided to self-publish.
It’s so long ago now. The first book I sold was to a small press called Triskellion Publishing which went bankrupt decades ago. I’ve been indie since 2014 and COLD TRUTH is my 30th book. Hard to believe really.
13--What’s your favorite genre to read?
I love everything. Romantic Suspense, Historical Fiction, Police Procedurals, Thrillers, Romantic Comedy.
14--What’s your favorite movie?
Willow.
15--What is your favorite season?
Not winter.
16--How do you like to celebrate your birthday?
As much as possible! This year I’ll be with my parents back in the UK for this first time in…decades!!
17--What’s a recent tv show/movie/book/podcast you highly recommend?
Adolescence was intense. Fantastic acting. Thought-provoking subject matter. Chillingly realistic.
18--What’s your favorite type of cuisine?
I love food in general. I have a dairy allergy which limits some cuisine. My favorite is probably Thai, but also sushi.
19--What do you do when you have free time?
Watch TV or read. In the summer I’ll potter in the garden. Oh, I also have two big dogs, so whatever they want to do, LOL.
20--What can readers expect from you next?
More stories in my Cold Justice® world! COLD HEAT is already up for pre-order, but I might sneak in a little surprise too.
Cold Justice - Most Wanted

Secrets and lies collide in this explosive romantic thriller from New York Times bestselling author Toni Anderson.
Rowena Smith may be a top-shelf librarian, but solid investigative skills won't keep her safe after her newest research project—tracking down her biological father—leads her to a brutally murdered body. The scene offers up one hope for assistance: the card of FBI Supervisory Special Agent Kurt Montana. Alone and terrified in a foreign country, Rowena places the call.
About to board a flight home after a failed mission, Kurt can't ignore the plea in Rowena's voice. She could be the killer or she could be an innocent bystander—either way, he senses she holds information vital to his case. When Kurt's flight takes off without him—only to crash into the African savanna killing everyone onboard—he knows it's no coincidence. Rowena saved his life.
On the run from powerful enemies, he and Rowena pose as a couple—never mind that she's much too young for him. As danger escalates and they inch closer to the secret someone is trying desperately to prevent them from revealing, their fake relationship spirals into something far more perilous. And deeply personal.
The game gets deadlier with each and every step toward the truth. But there's no turning back and they'll need to rely on their skills and their wits—and each other—if they hope to survive.
If you love age-gap romance, high-stakes danger, and alpha heroes with a soft spot for the woman they protect, don't miss this thrilling, action-packed story!
Books in this series have won the following awards: the Daphne du Maurier Award for Excellence (overall winner), New England Readers' Choice Awards, and the Carolyn Readers' Choice Awards for Romantic Suspense.

Best known for her “COLD JUSTICE®” novels, perhaps it’s not surprising to discover Toni lives in one of the most extreme climates on earth—Manitoba, Canada. Formerly a Marine Biologist (PhD), she still misses the ocean. Her greatest achievements include raising two kids, mastering the Tokyo subway, climbing Ben Lomond, snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef, and surviving eighteen (and counting) Winnipeg winters.
Toni loves to travel for research and was lucky enough to visit the Strategic Information and Operations Center inside FBI Headquarters in Washington, D.C. She also got to shove another car off the road during pursuit training at the Writer’s Police Academy in Wisconsin. She hopes not to get arrested for her Google searches.
