1--What is the title of your latest release?

PREYING GAME

2--What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book?

A distress call on the radio of an old car Decorah agent Johah Raider if fixing sends him off on a frantic search for a woman being held captive. With his telepathic abilities, he locates her prison and even “visits” her there, but can he figure out where she is in time to save her life?

3--How did you decide where your book was going to take place?

I had attended a destination wedding at an old estate on Maryland’s Eastern shore and decided it was the perfect location for my bad guy to be holding my heroine captive. He’s making her do rigorous physical training, so she’ll be ready for him to hunt her when he releases her on the estate’s grounds. He’s sure he’s going to kill her. Jonah has other plans for the hunt.

4--Would you hang out with your protagonist in real life?

I wish.  I only write about heroes and heroines I want to know better. That’s why I’m telling their stories.

5--What are three words that describe your protagonist?

Jonah is tough, effective, and telepathic.

6--What’s something you learned while writing this book?

I learned that time travel stories can be tricky.

7--Do you edit as you draft or wait until you are totally done?

I always start the day off by editing what I wrote the day before. In addition, I also do a major edit after I’ve written about 100 pages. When I read the beginning of the book, I may make some changes to the beginning. After I finish the whole manuscript, I edit again, both on the computer and on paper.

8--What’s your favorite foodie indulgence?

Sees Candy

9--Describe your writing space/office!

I made a very nice office for myself, but my husband has taken it over. That’s okay because I like writing while propped on my bed. That was true in my school days. My mom got me a desk, but I sat on the bed instead.

10--Who is an author you admire?

Just one? Ken Follett. He writes great suspense, and he can also write great love scenes. He gets into a woman’s pov better than most other male authors.

11--Is there a book that changed your life?

Adventures in Time and Space, edited by J. Francis Healy and Raymond J./McComas. I read the SF stories in that book when I was fourteen or fifteen, and many of them still stick with me.

12--Tell us about when you got “the call.” (when you found out your book was going to be published)/Or, for indie authors, when you decided to self-publish.

My first novel was a kids’ SF story call The Invasion of the Blue Lights. When Phyllys Brand at Scholastic called to say she was buying it, I was over the moon. Then she took a couple of months to send me the contract, and I was afraid she’d changed her mind.

13--What’s your favorite genre to read?

Suspense

14--What’s your favorite movie?

Star Man. I really get into that science fiction romance.

15--What is your favorite season?

Spring. I love seeing all the plants come back up from the ground and all the flowers blooming.

16--How do you like to celebrate your birthday?

Several years ago, we found out that a friend had the same birthday as I do. We always celebrate by going out to dinner with them.

17--What’s a recent tv show/movie/book/podcast you highly recommend?

We just finished the four seasons of For All Mankind and loved it.

18--What’s your favorite type of cuisine?

I love all kinds of cuisines. Middle Eastern, Chinese, Italian, Vietnamese.

19--What do you do when you have free time?

I love cooking, gardening, reading, and keeping up with friends on social media.

20--What can readers expect from you next?

I’m working on the 5th book in my Soulmated series. The tentative title is Midnight Obsession.  Since I want to make each book in the series stand out from the rest, this one starts with a shocking twist. The bad guy has already killed the hero. Can the h/h use their telepathic powers to avenge his death and bring him back to life?

A woman’s voice on the broken radio of an antique car sends Decorah agent Jonah Raider on a dangerous mission to save her life. She’s Alice Davenport, a man is holding her captive, and she’s sending out a desperate telepathic plea for help.

Using his extrasensory abilities, he contacts her mind to mind. Jolting his talent to the maximum, he’s able to project himself to her prison. But since neither of them knows where she’s being held, rescue seems impossible. Still, in the darkness of her cell, he offers what comfort he can.

Time is not on their side. And as Jonah races to save Alice’s life, he must call on psychic resources he didn’t know he possessed.
