In GET LOST WITH YOU, Jillian Keller has settled into her life as a divorced mom who is happy to be back in her hometown, surrounded by her family and the people she loves. When Levi Bright, the boy that all of her teenage diary entries were about, comes back to Smile for good, they reconnect and realize that all those long-ago feelings never went away.

This is a second chance, brother’s best friend, childhood crush story that needs a soundtrack to encapsulate the multitude of feelings and emotions both Jilly and Levi have.

If this book had a theme song:

Everything Has Changed by Taylor Swift

And all my walls
Stood tall painted blue
But I'll take 'em down, take 'em down
And open up the door for you
And all I feel
In my stomach is butterflies
The beautiful kind, makin' up for lost time
Takin' flight, makin' me feel like

Jillian and Levi have both been through a lot in the last ten years. When they reconnect, it’s first as friends even though they both feel the spark of what once existed between them. Jillian is more cautious now but it doesn’t take long for Levi to realize everything he’s ever wanted or searched for is right where he left it—Smile Michigan.

Watermelon Moonshine by Lainey Wilson

But I told him that he was the one
You're so sure when you're that young
You think you got it all figured out
And now I laugh when I think about

I love this song. It’s a song about her first love and even though Levi and Jilly never actually dated as teens, their feelings were strong. It crushed her when he moved away and I think this song by Lainey Wilson perfectly encapsulates the beautifully sweet naivety that comes with youth.

Next Thing You Know by Jordan Davis

Next thing you know
It's first steps, first dates, first car
It's 11:01 wonderin' where they are
You're sayin' that USC's too far
It's amazing how fast seventeen years go
Next thing you know
Next thing you know

What I love about this song is it perfectly encapsulates how quickly life goes and how often it leads you in a direction you never expected. In Levi and Jilly’s case, the next thing they knew, they were reconnecting and falling fast, learning how to build a future together despite a past that pulled them apart and changed them.

I Should Have Married You by Old Dominion

If I hadn't been so young and stupid
Yeah, I let somebody beat me to it
Don't know what you got until you lose it
Guess I blew it, baby
I should have married you

I love this song and it’s a perfect way to encapsulate all of the “I should haves” of youth. Jilly and Levi shared an almost kiss the night before he left the island to pursue his dreams. While they both moved on and lived their lives, both of them had moments over the years of wondering what could have been, wishing they’d taken that kiss or shared their feelings. This song is such a fun reminder that we don’t always get a second chance. Fortunately, Levi and Jilly do.

GET LOST WITH YOU by Sophie Sullivan

Rock Bottom Love #2

A second chance at love, small-town romance that’s all sweet with just a hint of heat from the “queen of sweet romance” (Falon Ballard) Sophie Sullivan.

Jillian Keller took the long route to her best life, but is now happily settled in her hometown of Smile, raising her little girl alone while helping her brother run Get Lost Lodge. A lover of structure and routine, she doesn’t need anyone disrupting her carefully curated life.

After chasing and achieving his culinary dreams, Levi Bright realizes he’s still missing something he can’t find in a big city. Returning home to Smile, he intends to build a different future for himself, including reconnecting with family and friends, and creating elevated comfort food for a town he loves.

When Levi and Jilly run into each other, past feelings that never had a chance to bloom flare between them… but she’s been hurt before, and falling for her older brother’s best friend seems like a recipe for drama. But sometimes, a second chance at love leads you right where you’re meant to be.
