1--What is the title of your latest release?
MISTLETOE, MUTTS AND MURDER
2--What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book?
Christmas is coming to Wings Falls, New York, but Santa is found “run over by a reindeer”. Who would want to harm the jolly old guy? Was someone on his naughty list and wanted to silence his Ho, Ho, Ho? When Samantha Davies’s father and his best friend are accused of his murder, she and her beloved dachshund, Porkchop, set out to prove them innocent, much to her boyfriend, Detective Hank Johnson’s chagrin.
3--How did you decide where your book was going to take place?
I love small town settings for cozy mysteries. I’m fortunate that I live in an area surrounded by these sweet little towns, so I can draw on them for inspiration.
4--Would you hang out with your protagonist in real life?
Absolutely. She’s loyal to her family and friends. The kind of person you can tell your deepest secrets to.
5--What are three words that describe your protagonist?
Brave, compassionate, and loyal
6--What’s something you learned while writing this book?
That it’s okay not to be tied to the computer. That I can take days off from writing to just enjoy life.
7--Do you edit as you draft or wait until you are totally done?
I wait until I’m done, or I’d never type THE END
8--What’s your favorite foodie indulgence?
Dark chocolate. I have to eat a piece of it before I start my day. It’s my go to brain food.
9--Describe your writing space/office!
Small. A small bedroom, with a small desk.
10--Who is an author you admire?
Catherine Bruns. I love her books and I’m in awe of her ability to write multiple series.
11--Is there a book that changed your life?
I can’t say there is.
12--Tell us about when you got “the call.” (when you found out your book was going to be published)/Or, for indie authors, when you decided to self-publish.
When I opened the email from Gemma my heart sped up and I was breathless. I kept saying, “Oh, my. Oh, my.”

Cozies. They’re fun and often make me laugh

Summer. The hotter the better. That’s why I live in upstate New York. No, just kidding. Hubby and I moved here to be near our kids.
16--How do you like to celebrate your birthday?
Quietly. At my age,76, I’m just glad I made it to another.
17--What’s a recent tv show/movie/book/podcast you highly recommend?
Hmmm, I don’t watch much TV other than the news in the morning. I do like older shows like Flea Market Flip and Pawn Stars,
18--What’s your favorite type of cuisine?
Italian. Love all then pasta and sauces.
19--What do you do when you have free time?
I like to knit, rug hook and do cross stitch. I’m sort of a crafty person

Another book in my Samantha Davies Mystery series, A PAWSOME SUMMER FOR A MURDER, to be released in June of 2025.
Samantha Davies Mysteries #6
Christmas is coming and children’s book author, Samantha Davies, and her lovable dachshund, Porkchop, are caught up in the holiday festivities in beautiful upstate New York. Sam’s parents, Chuck and Barbara, who have been enjoying their retired life in sunny Florida, have flown into Wings Falls to spend the holidays with Sam and meet her new boyfriend, Detective Hank Johnson. Sam is also busy hosting this year’s Christmas party for the Loopy Ladies, Sam’s rug hooking group.
The Loopy Ladies know how to party and are enjoying an evening eating, drinking, and making merry... until Santa crashes the party. Unfortunately, this Santa is Sam’s next-door neighbor who her parents have had a long-running feud with. When not playing the local mall’s not-so-jolly old St. Nick, Leo Sayers is a newspaper reporter, and he announces to the group that he's written a damning article accusing Sam’s dad and his close friend, Herb Feinstein, of some very shady dealings in their past. To preserve peace on earth—and among the Loopy Ladies—Chuck and Herb escort Leo from the party.
Only, not long after being sent on his way, Santa is found dead—lying in the snow, run over by a plastic reindeer, with a string of Christmas lights around his neck! Are Sam’s father and Herb now on the naughty list? If Sam can’t prove them innocent of murdering Santa, she's afraid their stockings will contain handcuffs and a one-way ticket to prison this year!
