Tonya Callihan keeps readers up-to-date with the best series romance books released by Harlequin and Silhouette.

Snow Days Are For Reading

I have a confession; I am that annoying friend that loves snow. I’m the one chanting, "Let is Snow! Let it Snow!" But I assure you I have the best reason in the world to love winter and to love snow. I love reading, that simple. During the summer months I don’t get as much reading as I would like. I’m too tempted to go outside because it’s warm and pretty and there is so much to do.

During the winter I do love to go outside when we have our first big snow, and I admit I have fun sleigh riding and building snow forks for that ultimate snowball fight. But that can only last so long, I can only stand the cold for a little while. It gives me the perfect excuse to make me a cup of hot French vanilla and curl up by the fire with a great book from Harlequin to read.

Here’s my “to be read” pile for December.

Any book from the Harlequin Presents line is sure to heat up those cold winter nights. They release 12 books monthly and I tell you it’s one of the hardest things in the world to only pick a couple, not only for this column, but also for my personal use.

HIS MISTRESS, HIS TERMS by Trish Wylie is a sure bet for those long winter days. Merrow O’Connell believes she is going to work, for rich a playboy named Alex Fitzgerald, for her interior design skills. She soon learns that he has something else in mind. He figures Merrow is perfect mistress material. Merrow has been hurt one to many times and is unattached and vows not to get close to Alex, especially when she learns he wants her for more than a mistress.

THE ITALIAN'S UNWILLING WIFE by Kathryn Ross is another great read from Harlequin Presents. Abbie is the mother of Damon’s son, but he figures she is only after is money. So, in his mind there is only one way to make her pay, he will seduce her for the ultimate satisfaction, and make her is wife for the most profitable item in his portfolio.

Another line of books that Harlequin offers that will warm up those cold nights is Harlequin Blaze. These stories are some of the steamiest on the market, but they don’t only focus around sex. They focus on love and the ultimate “happy ever after” that we all wish for.

NO PEEKING… by Stephanie Bond is the third book in her Sex for Beginners series. All three books are about women who have a chance to live out their wildest sexual fantasies. In this book, a workaholic woman receives a letter that she had written herself ten years ago. In the letter is her sexual desires, now that she has a chance and a willing man, it’s up to her to let herself run wild.

Harlequin NASCAR only releases about two books, and then it’s not every month they have a release. And they sell out quickly, so I wouldn't hesitate on purchasing any book from this line that you are interested in.

EXTREME CAUTION by Jean Brashear, this book sounds like it’s about an older woman for those of you looking for something around your age. Maeve Branch has recently gone through the worst embarrassment she could have ever thought of. Her husband has disappeared with millions of money, that isn’t his. Not to mention she’s learned that he has been cheating on her for a few years. Now she’s the talk of the town. Maeve keeps her focus on her twin boys, who work in NASCAR, and volunteering at the animal shelter. She’s trying to keep her life calm and then walks in oil tycoon Chuck Lawrence.

I hope these great reads help warm up your winter days. And please let it snow soon.

Happy Reading, Tonya
