Book Title: A WEREWOLF’S GUIDE TO SEDUCING A VAMPIRE

Character Name: Eleonore Bettencourt-Devereux

How would you describe your family or your childhood?

My childhood was idyllic, spent in a medieval castle with a blended clan of vampires and succubi. My mother and father loved each other very much, despite being different species, and I learned how to fight from my father and how to charm from my mother. (Admittedly, I am not very good at the charming portion.) I miss them very much. For the last six centuries, I’ve been trapped in a crystal, magically compelled to obey the orders of whoever owns that crystal.

What was your greatest talent?

I am an excellent knife-thrower and very good at surprise assassinations! I also recently discovered a talent for a game called “cornhole.”

Significant other?

As part-succubus, I take nourishment from sexual energy, but dating is a bit difficult when you’re a mystically ensorcelled assassin who never spends more than a few months in any time period. The witch who cursed me sold the crystal on eBay for unknown reasons, so I’m currently bound to obey the orders of a handsome but very odd werewolf named Ben Rosewood. He didn’t realize the eBay listing was real, so now he wants to “make me dinner” and “buy me flowers,” and he isn’t forcing me to murder anyone. It’s confusing.

Biggest challenge in relationships?

I have a tendency to hiss. Also, the “ensorcelled assassin” part.

Where do you live?

Inside the crystal. I can be summoned at will, and the rest of the time I spend in a hazy half-sleep. Since being summoned in the modern day, I’ve been exploring the small town of Glimmer Falls in Washington State.

Do you have any enemies?

Countless! All of them are dead now except one, and she had better watch out.

How do you feel about the place where you are now? Is there something you are particularly attached to, or particularly repelled by, in this place?

The 21st century is an intriguing time, full of unimaginable technology and delicious food. Small town Glimmer Falls is also fascinating, though I can’t quite get used to a place where people don’t fear sudden beheadings.

What do you do for a living?

I obey the orders of whoever possesses the crystal, although I was unfortunately not compensated for that. Ben Rosewood doesn’t order me to do anything at all, though, so I’m experimenting to find out what I might actually like to do for a living. Right now, that’s launching a theatrical career.

Greatest disappointment?

That I allowed myself to be trapped by a curse to begin with. The evil witch took advantage of my grief over losing my father to trap me, and I haven’t seen the rest of my family since.

Greatest source of joy?

Right now, it’s acting. It’s so freeing to create a one-woman show about my career as an assassin. I also felt joy when Ben gave me flowers after my first performance.

What do you do to entertain yourself or have fun?

I watch Star Trek, throw knives, and crawl across the ceiling.

What is your greatest personal failing, in your view?

I often act without thinking, and since my history has been fairly traumatic, my reactions to even small inconveniences or surprises can be explosive.

What keeps you awake at night?

Right now, it’s Ben Rosewood, in the best possible way. The werewolf has stamina!

What is the most pressing problem you have at the moment?

I think I’m falling in love with Ben, but I’m still bound to obey his commands. Even though he doesn’t want to issue any orders, it’s difficult for me to learn to trust someone, so I’m hoping to break the curse so we can try dating in earnest.

Is there something that you need or want that you don’t have? For yourself or for someone important to you?

Freedom! Once I’m no longer bound by the curse, I’ll be able to live my life fully and entirely for myself. I just need to figure out where that evil witch is, go on a road trip with my werewolf to find her, and get my vengeance.

A Werewolf's Guide to Seducing a Vampire

Ben Rosewood never meant to be bound to a vampire succubus, especially one as sexy-yet-terrifying as Eleonore Bettencourt-Devereux, but he has to admit there are some fang-tastic perks….

Werewolf Ben Rosewood is happy with his life. One hundred percent. Everything is fine. His business, Ben’s Plant Emporium, is thriving, and he’s even expanding the shop. His anxiety disorder is…well, it’s been better, but that comes with the territory of running a business and having beastly urges every full moon, right? As for romance—who has the time? Though his family is desperate to see him settled, Ben is fine approaching forty as a single werewolf. But after drunkenly bidding on and winning a supposedly-possessed crystal on eBay one night, he finds himself face-to-face with a beautiful yet angry vampire.

Eleonore Bettencourt-Devereux is a rare breed—a vampire succubus born from two elite European bloodlines during medieval times. Thanks to an evil witch, she’s been stuck in a crystal since she was thirty, forced to obey orders from the possessor of the rock. Eleonore's been dreaming of breaking the spell and severing the witch’s head for centuries. But did this witch really sell her to someone new, and for only ninety-nine cents?

Eleonore would claw this werewolf’s heart out and eat it, if only the binding spell would allow her to. But Eleonore and Ben soon realize they can help each other with both vengeful and less hostile needs. And why not have a little fun along the way?
