1--What is the title of your latest release?
YOU’VE GOT MALE
2--What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book?
YOU’VE GOT MALE is a timely twist on Gilmore Girls meets Sleepless in Seattle where three generations of women navigate life, love and dating in the modern-day world of apps, snaps and social media.
3--How did you decide where your book was going to take place?
I chose Colorado because I wanted the backdrop of the beautiful Rockies and Denver specifically because of the coffee and art scene there.
4--Would you hang out with your protagonist in real life?
Absolutely. I love how quirky and loyal she is. She is a perfectionist whose life is one Xanax from falling apart—kind of like mine.
5--What are three words that describe your protagonist?
Independent, witty, stubborn.
6--What’s something you learned while writing this book?
That when you decide to become a parent it’s okay for other things to slide through the cracks. We can’t be perfect at everything. As long as we love our kids and are there for them, we’re doing a great job.
7--Do you edit as you draft or wait until you are totally done?
I edit as I go. It helps me to get to know the characters better when I nail the first half of the book.
8--What’s your favorite foodie indulgence?
I’d like to die in a doughnut explosion.
9--Describe your writing space/office!
I write on my couch with my cats on my laps. It’s my favorite place in the house.
10--Who is an author you admire?
Emily Henry for sure.
11--Is there a book that changed your life?
Honor’s Splendor by Julie Garwood.
12--Tell us about when you got “the call.” (when you found out your book was going to be published)/Or, for indie authors, when you decided to self-publish.
I was at my best friend’s house, and I knew the second I saw my agent’s name come up on the screen that I’d sold a book. I wasn’t sure which book because I had several out. I was so happy I started crying, and I’m talking the ugly cry. I doubt my agent understood a word I was saying.
13--What’s your favorite genre to read?
Rom-com.
14--What’s your favorite movie?
Strictly Ballroom. I cry every time Scott Hastings takes the floor.
15--What is your favorite season?
I love autumn. The way the leaves change color and the smell of wet cement and redwood trees.
16--How do you like to celebrate your birthday?
Indian food and going to a movie at the drive-in with my family—for a good rom-com if one is out.
17--What’s a recent tv show/movie/book/podcast you highly recommend?
Queen Charlotte rocked my world.
18--What’s your favorite type of cuisine?
Indian.
19--What do you do when you have free time?
I binge fixer-er up-er shows or Below Deck. I take my reality TV addiction seriously.
20--What can readers expect from you next?
LOVE TO HATE YOU comes out August 2025 and follows an independent bookstore owner / successful podcaster who is looking for true love and a cynical big-chain CEO who launch a bookstore-war that may challenge everything they believe about love.
She has zero time for a relationship. A fake one will have to do—in New York Times bestselling author Marina Adair’s new romance that brings the humor and the heart…
Evie Granger’s life is one crisis away from a complete meltdown.
Between single-parenting a sixteen-going-on-forty daughter, managing a mom living her best life way out loud, caring for an ailing father, and keeping the family’s struggling coffee shop afloat, Evie hasn’t looked after herself in far too long.
So naturally her best friend chooses this moment to post a video of Evie describing the ideal man...and sends it stratospherically viral.
Now Evie’s an overnight social media sensation and every eligible (and otherwise) guy in a five-state radius is turning up with his “I’m the one” credentials. But Evie can’t bring herself to let any Prince Charming into a life that’s barely holding together. A life she doesn’t even recognize as hers.
So she strikes a bargain with her sexy—if equally overwhelmed—neighbor to convince America she’s taken. But can a faux fairytale start to feel real...or is it just as doomed from the start?
Marina Adair’s clever, uproarious story captures the utter chaos and irrepressible joy of balancing kids, parents, love, and finding a spare minute for yourself—while the whole world watches every disastrous minute.
