Instead of trying to find your perfect match in a dating app, we bring you the “Author-Reader Match" where we introduce you to authors you may fall in love with. It's our great pleasure to present Jenni L. Walsh!
Writes:
Jenni L. Walsh writes edge-of-your-seat historical novels. She loves the “inspired by” and the “based on” stories that bring history to life. Depression-era outlaws, Wild West rule-breakers, spies, war heroines, and daring motorcycle dispatch riders are some of the strong women you’ll get to know in her novels. In her most recent, UNSINKABLE, you’ll find two unsinkable females: a Titanic survivor and a WWII spy.
About:
Ten-time novelist seeks eager readers. I love writing banter and characters who make jokes when they’re nervous. Sometimes I put my characters through the wringer, but I try to give them a happily ever after in the end. I’m a homebody, content to curl up with a book. My friends say my own books are “a must read” (Noelle Salazar), “an absolute treat for historical fiction lovers” (Fiona Davis), and “compulsively readable” (Chanel Cleeton).
What I’m looking for in my ideal reader match:
- Drawn to stories inspired by real life
- Loves twists and turns
- Enjoys strong, resilient characters
- Has tissues handy
- Likes novels by Kate Quinn, Kristin Hannah, and Ariel Lawhon
What to expect if we're compatible:
- Titanic and her survivors
- Dual POV
- A dash of romance
- Both WWI and WWII
- Three shipwreck scenes
- Clandestine shenanigans
- A surprise connection between my characters
What she survived has become legend. Inspired by true stories of survival and resilience, Unsinkable entwines the lives of two women, one from World War 1 and another from World War 2, as they face adversity and take hold of the second chances given to them.
Violet Jessop is Miss Unsinkable.
After her mother becomes too ill to work, the responsibility to provide for the family falls to Violet as the oldest of nine. When the world enters the Great War, she serves as a nurse, helping men who could very well be her brothers. Working as a stewardess and wartime nurse, Violet not only survives a shipwreck but also two sinkings, one on the infamous Titanic. No one can understand why she would return to sea, but something keeps drawing Violet back to the tumultuous waters, where she struggles to put the tragedies of her past behind her and pursue a life and love all her own.
Daphne has survived calamity?of her own.
Daphne Chaundanson grows up as an unwanted child after her mother died in a tragedy. She throws herself into education, collecting languages like candy in a desperate attempt to finally earn her father’s approval. When the Special Operations Executive invites her to be an agent in France in World War II, her childhood of anonymity and her love of languages make her the perfect fit. She sees it as an opportunity to help the country she loves and live up to her father’s expectations. But the dangers of war challenge Daphne in ways she never could have expected, and the secrets from her own past must be faced for her to truly have a future beyond the conflict—if she can survive it.
Inspired by true stories of Violet Jessop and the thirty-nine women of the Special Operations Executive. Two unsinkable women. Two stories of survival, family, and finding one’s own happiness. One connection that reshapes both their lives forever.

Jenni L. Walsh spends her days knee deep in words in Philadelphia’s suburbia. Beyond words, Jenni is a mama (of a soulful ten-year-old, a dinosaur-loving seven-year-old, and four needy furbabies), a wife, a Philly and 'Nova sports fan.
But where did it all begin? Jenni spent her early years dabbling in various forms of writing and with her nose in a book. Her writing chops first began to develop through one-page stories. Never fail, the storyline followed the same progression: girl meets boy, girl marries boy, girl and boy have baby. That's it.
Now Jenni has moved on to stories with a bit more depth and, for the mamas, Side by Side is a historical women's fiction story of America’s most infamous crime spree of Bonnie and Clyde told in the raw and honest voice of the woman who lived it, Bonnie Parker.
