Caz Frear | Title Challenge: FIVE BAD DEEDS

twitter

Hi, I'm Caz Frear! I'm delighted to be here today to introduce my latest novel, FIVE BAD DEEDS, which tells the story of Ellen Walsh - an "everywoman" who truly believes she's a good person until five events come back to haunt her in the most devastating of ways.

F is for family. Ellen was born into a very different family to the one she’s come to create.

I is for income. Money, and what it means to different people, is a key theme of the book.

V is for vicious – these characters don’t hold back on saying what they think!

E is for Ellen. The heroine of the story (or ‘anti-heroine’ might be more accurate!)

B is for bohemian - Ellen’s sister, Kristy, is a free spirit.

A is for Adam - Ellen’s husband is hiding secrets and resentments of his own.

D is for dream house. Ellen’s got everything she ever wanted, or has she?

D is for dark humor – there’s definitely an undercurrent of this throughout the whole mystery.

E is for Esme - the best friend of Ellen’s teenage daughter. While she isn’t exactly the best influence, she was lots of fun to write.

E is for educator. Ellen was formerly a high-school teacher and is now working as a private tutor.

D is for deceit. There isn’t a single character in this novel who isn’t lying about something!

S is for scandals.  Ellen finds herself at the center of several!

FIVE BAD DEEDS by Caz Frear

Five Bad Deeds

Acclaimed, internationally bestselling author Caz Frear ratchets up the suspense in this outstanding standalone psychological thriller—a gripping tale of revenge, loyalty, and the secrets hidden between the walls of the most beautiful home in town.

Ellen Walsh has done something very, very bad. If only she knew what it was . . .

Teacher, mother, wife, and all-around good citizen Ellen is juggling nonstop commitments, from raising a teen and two toddlers to job-hunting to finally renovating her dream home, the Meadowhouse. Amidst the chaos, an ominous note arrives in the mail, declaring:

People have to learn there are consequences, Ellen.

And I’m going to teach you that lesson.

Right under your nose.

Why would someone send her this? Ellen has no clue. She’s no angel—a white lie here, an occasional sharp tongue there—but nothing to incur the wrath of an anonymous enemy. She’d never intentionally hurt anyone.

But intention doesn’t matter to someone. Someone blames this supposed “good person” for all the bad they’ve experienced. And maybe they have reason to? Because few of us get through life without leaving a black mark on someone else’s. Could the five bad deeds that come to haunt Ellen explain why things have gone so horribly wrong?

As she races to discover who’s set on destroying her reputation and her future, Ellen continues to receive increasingly threatening messages . . . each one hitting closer to everything she cherishes.

About Caz Frear

Caz Frear

Caz Frear grew up in Coventry, England, and spent her teenage years dreaming of moving to London and writing a novel. After fulfilling her first dream, it wasn’t until she moved back to Coventry thirteen years later that the second finally came true. She has a degree in History & Politics, and when she’s not agonizing over snappy dialogue or incisive prose, she can be found shouting at Arsenal football matches or holding court in the pub on topics she knows nothing about.
