Book Title: TWO TO TANGO

Character Name: Olivia Farnsworth

How would you describe your family or your childhood?

Unique. My parents are both academics, and they weren’t the touchy feely type, my mother especially. Think Beverly Hofstadter from The Big Bang Theory. She and my dad even did a Punnet square during one of their dates to find out if they were genetically compatible! But I was also raised by my Great Aunt Bea, who never had children of my own. She was always there with hugs, advice, and of course, lots of delicious southern cooking.

What was your greatest talent?

Organizing. I’m the queen of schedules and organization. It’s partly why I wanted to be a librarian—I’m obsessed with the Dewey Decimal System.

Significant other?

Well, I don’t want to spoil anything, but there’s this pediatrician I’m fond of…

Biggest challenge in relationships?

Time and schedules. Especially if your significant other is a doctor.

Where do you live?

Maple Falls, Arkansas. It’s the Mayberry of Garland County.

Do you have any enemies?

Probably. I’m a logical person and while I try to be kind to everyone and have integrity, but I can’t please everyone. I’m fortunate to have a close-knit group of friends, though.

How do you feel about the place where you are now?

Is there something you are particularly attached to, or particularly repelled by, in this place? Don’t tell anyone, but I’m in a rut. A big one. I like my organized life, but my friends are all married, and my coworker wants to set me up with her nephew. I’m nearing thirty and wondering if I’m missing out. Then I met Kingston, and my life turned upside down…

Do you have children, pets, both, or neither?

Neither. I hope to have children someday.

What do you do for a living?

I’m the head librarian at the Maple Falls Library.

Greatest disappointment?

Wishing I could be emotionally closer with my parents. It will never happen, but I love and accept them the way they are.

Greatest source of joy?

Creating literacy programs for children and adults at the library. I’m passionate about literacy.

What do you do to entertain yourself or have fun?

I love vintage movies. Every third Monday of the month there is a vintage movie night at the Sunset Theater. My favorite movie is The Quiet Man. I’ve seen it thirteen times.

What is your greatest personal failing, in your view?

Being too focused on work and my schedule. I’m not spontaneous and I’m afraid to take risks.

What keeps you awake at night?

Kingston.

What is the most pressing problem you have at the moment?

Should I give Kingston a third chance?

Is there something that you need or want that you don’t have?

For yourself or for someone important to you? I need to step out of my comfort zone and experience life. I spend most of my time working, and now that my friends are married, I’m feeling left out. It’s hard to get out of a rut. I’m finding that out firsthand.

Why don’t you have it? What is in the way?

I’m afraid. What if I make the wrong decision? Or mistake? Or, worst of all, I get hurt? I’ve already experienced heartbreak. I don’t want it to happen again.

A Maple Falls Romance #4

Two to Tango

When career-driven Olivia Farnsworth and Kingston Bedford refuse to act on their obvious chemistry, the town of Maple Falls schemes to pair the two up—and dance their way to another happy ending.

Olivia Farnsworth always has a plan and knows just what she likes. She likes her job as head librarian. She likes spending time with her aunt Bea and with her close-knit group of friends. She likes attending the cinema’s monthly Vintage Movie Night. What she does not like is stepping outside her comfort zone. But when Kingston Bedford, her best friend’s older brother, runs into her at the movies, that’s exactly what she does. She takes a chance on the gorgeous pediatrician she’s known her whole life—only to crash land her way into heartache. Twice. One year later, she’s determined to avoid him forever. Aunt Bea and her Bosom Buddies, however, have other ideas. Plans that begin with ballroom dancing lessons . . . and end with one of the Bosom Buddies getting a taste of her own matchmaking medicine.

Kingston never thought he’d be utterly alone—as his mother puts it—in his thirties. But somehow, he’s let his life spiral out of control. His career has taken over, leaving no time for romance. That is, until his clinic forces him to take a two-month sabbatical. But is it too late to start over with the girl he can’t get off his mind?

Luckily, the scheming town of Maple Falls is once again ready to help make sparks fly.
