1--What is the title of your latest release?

2--What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book?
How long do you keep a promise that holds a secret? Even if it’s detrimental. To the grave. You keep it to the grave.
3--How did you decide where your book was going to take place?
I’ve driven through the sleepy town of Barbourville, KY on my way to Lexington. It seemed like the perfect place to spin a tale.
4--Would you hang out with your protagonist in real life?
Oh – by all means. She’s spunky and fun.
5--What are three words that describe your protagonist?
Spunky. Painfully honest.
6--What’s something you learned while writing this book?
Answer: I learned the real treasure we seek is in those elderly folks we tend to look past. There are riches untold in the lives of these individuals.
7--Do you edit as you draft or wait until you are totally done?
I write two chapters, then edit the first chapter. Write two, edit the second. Chapters need time to percolate.
8--What’s your favorite foodie indulgence?
Chocolate Dove Bars
9--Describe your writing space/office!
My office is tiny. Our house was built in 1949. The room used for my office would have been a nursery in the 1940s. It’s probably the size of most peoples’ master bath. But it’s cozy and painted periwinkle blue, so it’s cheery. My four-legged pooch lays next to me when I write. For me – it’s the perfect hideaway.
10--Who is an author you admire?
Nicholas Sparks. I love the emotion he builds into his stories.
11--Is there a book that changed your life?
Yes! Toni Morrison’s Song of Solomon. The deep southern influence and the enriched lives of the slaves gave me a great appreciate for the struggles of the African Americans. I was humbled and touched. It’s a moving book.
12--Tell us about when you got “the call.” (when you found out your book was going to be published)/Or, for indie authors, when you decided to self-publish.
I got the call in high school – or I should say, the passion rose in me in high school. My friends wrote poetry (very popular in the 70s), but I never had a flare for poetry. My heart rang true in the story. I’ve always written but the passion ignited in high school.

Historical

Oh my…I’m a Marvel Universe fan. Iron Man and Thor

Spring
16--How do you like to celebrate your birthday?
Walking on the beach.
