1--What is the title of your latest release?

HELL BENT (Jinx McGee Book 2)

2--What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book?

If Jinx McGee can get her crap together, unify her team, sort out trust issues with her demon boyfriend, and master her new demon powers, she just might be able to stop the Master Demon of Sloth from unleashing mass mind control on humanity…with enough training, weapons, and coffee. Throw unexpected new enemies and one furry new ally into the mix, and life just got a whole lot more interesting. And deadly.

3--How did you decide where your book was going to take place?

I love my hometown, Nashville TN, Music City USA, and setting this series in Nashville gives me a great excuse to explore it!

4--Would you hang out with your protagonist in real life?

Jinx has great taste in food, so I’d love to hang out with her for lunch or dinner. When fighting demons…not so much. She and her team are pros. I’ll leave it to them!

5--What are three words that describe your protagonist?

Loyal. Determined. Hungry.

6--What’s something you learned while writing this book?

I learned how much fun it is to write animal characters! Sully the demon cat is so much fun and is a great addition to the demon hunting team.

7--Do you edit as you draft or wait until you are totally done?

I’ll make some edits as I write, especially to seed new plot points or twists on character development as they emerge. Before I send it to my editor, I always complete a self-edit. I want my editor to like me!

8--What’s your favorite foodie indulgence?

You mean I have to pick just one?? Right now, I’m really into making (and eating) sushi, poke bowls, and finding new Asian recipes to try on TikTok. I LOVE FoodTok!

9--Describe your writing space/office!

My home office, my couch, my bed, a coffee shop, wherever and whenever I can find time and space between working and managing life.

10--Who is an author you admire?

I admire Diana Gabaldon because of how engaging and generous she was when she spoke at a small writer’s conference I attended a while back. She’s very down to earth and gives great writing advice – plus she created two of my favorite series of all time, Outlander and The Lord John Grey series.

11--Is there a book that changed your life?

A Wrinkle in Time cemented my life-long love of reading and led me to the wonderful worlds of fantasy genres.

12--Tell us about when you got “the call.” (when you found out your book was going to be published)/Or, for indie authors, when you decided to self-publish.

I’d given a manuscript to an indie author friend to beta read, and a few weeks later she invited me over to her place to hang out. Turns out her sister was starting up a small publishing co-op, and they loved the manuscript so much they wanted me to publish with them. It was so unexpected and truly wonderful! I had much the same feeling when City Owl Press said yes to the Soul Broker and Jinx McGee series!

13--What’s your favorite genre to read?

I read widely, but urban fantasy and paranormal romance are my go-to genres.

14--What’s your favorite movie?

I have so many! One of my favorite evergreens is Raiders of the Lost Ark. So excited that a new Indiana Jones movie is coming out!

15--What is your favorite season?

Fall is the BEST! Cooler weather after a blazing hot summer, apple cider and pumpkin spice, and my favorite holiday, Halloween!

16--How do you like to celebrate your birthday?

Low key birthday dinner with my family and a few close friends.

17--What’s a recent tv show/movie/book/podcast you highly recommend?

I thoroughly enjoyed Glass Onion – even more than I loved the first Knives Out movie! The cast are magic, and the story and twists are wonderful. Highly recommend.

18--What’s your favorite type of cuisine?

I love food, so it’s hard to choose. Lately, I’m into Asian and I’m upping my Mexican cooking game with great recipes for a variety of fresh, homemade salsas, guacamole, Carne Asada, and pico. And I’m always game to try more Italian recipes!

19--What do you do when you have free time?

When I have free time and I’m not scrolling through FoodTok, I write! I also love to cook, garden, and to spend time with my family and my three cats.

20--What can readers expect from you next?

More Jinx McGee! I’m working hard on Book 3! You can find Catching Hell: Jinx McGee Book 1 here: https://cityowlpress.com/product/catching-hell/.

HELL BENT by D. B. Sieders

Hell Bent

Jinx McGee, formerly demon-possessed demon hunter, has a whole heap of trouble to go along with her nifty new powers. Master demons have invaded earth along with Celestials who aren't on the friendly side, her relationship is on the rocks, and her teammates are still reeling from the last battle that almost killed Jinx and let loose the demon brigade. If she can get a handle on her new abilities, unify the team, sort out trust issues with her demon boyfriend, and get her crap together, she just might be able to stop the Master Demon of Sloth from unleashing mass mind control on humanity…with enough training, weapons, and coffee. Throw unexpected new enemies and one furry new ally into the mix, and life just got a whole lot more interesting. And deadly.

About D. B. Sieders

D. B. Sieders

Award-winning author DB Sieders was born and raised in East Tennessee and spent her childhood hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains, wading barefoot in creeks, chasing salamanders, fish, and frogs. Her family loved to tell stories while sitting around the campfire.

Those days of frog chasing sparked her interest in biology. She is a working scientist by day, but she never lost her love of telling stories.

DB writes urban fantasy and paranormal romance. Her stories feature unlikely heroes and heroines who face a healthy dose of angst as they strive for redemption and a happily ever after, which everyone deserves. She lives in Nashville, Tennessee, with a husband, two children, a rotating number of cats, and her very active imagination.
