1--What is the title of your latest release?

NOBODY’S HERO, a Cottonbloom novella, and part of the RESCUED anthology. All the stories feature rescue dogs! We are donating the first two days of profit to Roxanne St. Clair’s animal rescue charity.

2--What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book?

An ex-con tries to persuade an abandoned puppy and an innocent romance author he's nobody's hero.

3--How did you decide where your book was going to take place?

NOBODY’S HERO is part of my Cottonbloom series, so the quirky town is well established (at least in my imagination!) It’s divided by a river, half the town is in Mississippi and half in Louisiana. Hijinks and rivalries ensue.

4--Would you hang out with your heroine in real life?

Considering she is a romance writer as well… YES!

5--What are three words that describe your hero?

Guarded, Dangerous, Horny (LOL) He did recently get out of jail…

6--What’s something you learned while writing this book?

How many dogs out there need to be adopted from shelters!

7--Do you edit as you draft or wait until you are totally done?

I wait until I am totally done. If I don’t, then I’m not sure I’d ever finish a book!

8--What’s your favorite foodie indulgence?

A really good charcuterie board.

9--Describe your writing space/office!

Cluttered and chaotic!

10--Who is an author you admire?

Skye Warren! Not only is she an amazing author, but she is a fabulous teacher!

11--Is there a book that changed your life?

The first book I really remember loving was The Monster at the End of This Book. The romance that changed my life was probably Kathleen Woodiwiss’s A Rose in Winter which I read in middle school. (Too young probably!) I loved the forbidden sexiness of it!

12--Tell us about when you got “the call.” (when you found out your book was going to be published)

I had a historical series on submission for almost a year. It got passed over time and again. While I was waiting, I wrote a small-town contemporary series, and my agent sent it out to editors. Then, all of a sudden, I had a three book offer for the contemporary series and a two book offer for the historical series from two different publishers in a matter of days! It was crazy exciting!

13--What’s your favorite genre to read?

Fantasy with romance! I love reading it because I don’t write it. I can totally relax and enjoy the genre. I devoured Jennifer Armentrout’s Blood and Ash series. I am seriously obsessed! I went in thinking it was a trilogy and now I’m left waiting desperately for the next book.

14--What’s your favorite movie?

Pride and Prejudice (2005)

15--What is your favorite season?

Fall. Love the cooler weather, the gorgeous leaves, and all the sports!

16--How do you like to celebrate your birthday?

I’m not big on birthday celebrations, but a night off from cooking for the family is always a celebration!

17--What’s a recent tv show/movie/book/podcast you highly recommend?

Reacher (and his enormous biceps) on Amazon Prime

18--What’s your favorite type of cuisine?

I love it all! I’ve recently discovered how much I love green curries!

19--What do you do when you have free time?

(Nerd alert!!) I read a lot. I listen to audiobooks and podcasts. I also got obsessed with Formula 1 racing after binge watching Drive to Survive on Netflix. It’s all about the characters!

20--What can readers expect from you next?

After the next Cottonbloom novella, Nobody’s Hero, releases in the RESCUED anthology, I plan to fast release three more historical romances. They will kick off my Laws of Attraction series, a spin-off of my Spies and Lovers series. Very excited!

About Laura Trentham

Laura Trentham

Laura Trentham was born and raised in a small town in Northwest Tennessee. Although, she loved English and reading in high school, she majored in Chemical Engineering (in order to avoid becoming a starving artist!) and worked in a hard hat and steel toed boots for several years. Now living in South Carolina with her husband and two children, she writes historical and contemporary romances that are a little dark, a little funny, and a whole lot of sexy.
