2--What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book?
The nerdy science professor and the social butterfly…
The darling of the Bishop family is back in Magnolia Sound. But not by choice. When her homecoming doesn’t go quiet as planned, Parker goes on the hunt for a place to stay – and spots a flier with a familiar name. Meanwhile, Professor Ethan Harlow simply wanted a roommate to help with expenses. What he got was the girl with the big personality that he remembered from school who was turning his quiet world upside down.
3--How did you decide where your book was going to take place?
Since this is book ten in my Magnolia Sound series, that was the easy part! Lol!
4--Would you hang out with your heroine in real life?
I think I would. Parker’s everybody’s friend and super easy to chat with.
5--What are three words that describe your hero?
Quiet, brilliant, thorough
6--What’s something you learned while writing this book?
I learned about the day spa business and the importance of wall colors! It was kind of fascinating
7--Do you edit as you draft or wait until you are totally done?
Totally wait until I’m done. When I write, I just plow through to the end.
8--What’s your favorite foodie indulgence?
For a snack, I am all about something sweet – preferably cookies. Although I’ve sort of recently developed an obsession with charcuterie boards so that’s something I’m having fun with.
9--Describe your writing space/office!
I LOVE my office! Two of the walls are painted a soft gray, one is a fabulous teak green, and I have an entire wall of white bookshelves/bookcases that my hubby built for me. Besides all my books, I have a collection of mugs and framed pictures on it as well as some of my favorite gifts from readers. I’m a huge Disney fanatic so there are a lot of Disney figurines there too. On one wall I have a massive picture of Sleeping Beauty’s Castle at Disneyland with the statue of Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse. My desk is an absolute disaster currently and yet I can find everything I need on it. My view from my desk are some framed pictures and my favorite Walt Disney quote is stenciled on my wall, “If you can dream it, you can do it”.
10--Who is an author you admire?
Susan Mallery. I have always loved her books and she’s just a very gracious and amazing person
11--Is there a book that changed your life?
Hmm…I’m a long-time romance reader, and I don’t think I had a life-changing book that I read, but I remember it was Sandra Brown’s older books that really made me want to write.
12--Tell us about when you got “the call.” (when you found out your book was going to be published)
I don’t think this one really applies to me at all – I’ve published 86 books so…LOL!
13--What’s your favorite genre to read?
Contemporary romance
14--What’s your favorite movie?
I know it’s old, but “When Harry Met Sally” will forever be a favorite for me
15--What is your favorite season?
Fall
16--How do you like to celebrate your birthday?
I’ve spent a lot of them going to Disney World (surprise, surprise), but mostly I enjoy going out for a good dinner with my family or friends and having a really decadent dessert!
17--What’s a recent tv show/movie/book/podcast you highly recommend?
Here’s something that may shock you – I don’t listen to podcasts, and I rarely watch TV unless it’s something about House Hunting or Beachfront Bargain Hunt Renovations! LOL! I’ve been in a funk with all of it lately, so I don’t have any recommendations! Sorry!
18--What’s your favorite type of cuisine?
Chinese food!
19--What do you do when you have free time?
Relax and just try to decompress. We love going to the coast and listening to the waves for that. If we can’t get away, then I like to go to lunch with friends, or go for a mani-pedi or massage.
20--What can readers expect from you next?
SO much! I just recently got the rights back to 32 of my books! Over the next several months, I’ll be re-releasing them with all new covers and I’m very excited about that. On top of that, my release schedule was already pretty full for this year! Besides the release of ALWAYS ON MY MIND (3/22), we’ve got GROOMED TO PERFECTION (5/10), THE I DO OVER (6/28), KISS THE GIRL (8/16), and then two untitled releases scheduled for 10/4 and 11/29!
Magnolia Sound #10
Returning to Magnolia Sound was never part of the plan. Then again, Parker Bishop rarely had one.
