1--What is the title of your latest release?

TEMPTING THE EARL, Wright Bastards Book #1

2--What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book?

The Earl of Wright is determined to acknowledge his illegitimate sister and provide her with the life she'd been denied. But first, he must convince the stubborn Scotswoman who raised her that he isn't the villain his father had been.

3--How did you decide where your book was going to take place?

The hero in this book first appeared in an earlier book of mine, Luck is No Lady, which was set in Regency London. I wanted to continue his story and though he makes a short trip to the Scottish Lowlands, most of the book takes place in London where more characters from previous books make appearances.

4--Would you hang out with your heroine in real life?

Of course! With her straight-forward attitude and fierce loyalty, Ainsworth would be a great friend to have.

5--What are three words that describe your hero?

Reserved, shy, passionate

6--What’s something you learned while writing this book?

I learned that although I love an alpha hero, there is something to be said for the quieter, more restrained hero who finally unleashes his passion for the heroine alone.

7--Do you edit as you draft or wait until you are totally done?

I try to get through a full first draft before editing, but that rarely happens. As I figure out the story more and gain stronger knowledge of my characters, I sometimes have to go back to the beginning to adjust things so I can keep going.

8--What’s your favorite foodie indulgence?

Oysters and champagne!

9--Describe your writing space/office!

My desk is set into the corner of my bedroom. I have a bookcase secured to the wall above my desk filled with research books, novels in my TBR collection, and my own titles. I most often write in the early morning darkness and quiet before the house wakes up.

10--Who is an author you admire?

Only one? There are so many… Sarah MacLean, Kerrigan Byrne, Eva Leigh, Beverly Jenkins, Tessa Dare…I could go on and on.

11--Is there a book that changed your life?

Jane Eyre…and Johanna Lindsey’s Gentle Rogue!

12--Tell us about when you got “the call.” (when you found out your book was going to be published)

I had just gotten home from the grocery store when my agent at the time called and said there was interest in Rogue Countess. I think I sat on my stairs, still in my coat and boots, just a bit stunned. But I’m a pretty pragmatic person so it was more a feeling of “what’s next?” than a big celebration.

13--What’s your favorite genre to read?

Historical Romance

14--What’s your favorite movie?

Tough one…an all-time favorite would be Dirty Dancing, but a current favorite is definitely Through My Window, a steamy Spanish teen romance.

15--What is your favorite season?

Summer, mainly because we’re able to do so much more together as a family.

16--How do you like to celebrate your birthday?

A nice dinner out with my family. (I refuse to cook or clean on my birthday or Mother’s Day. My gift to myself!)

17--What’s a recent tv show/movie/book/podcast you highly recommend?

I’m a bit late to the party on this one, but I just started watching It’s Okay to Not Be Okay, a K-Drama series on Netflix. It’s a complex and beautiful story.

18--What’s your favorite type of cuisine?

I like all types, honestly. I love savory flavors and I love to try new things.

19--What do you do when you have free time?

I like to read or binge-watch TV shows.

20--What can readers expect from you next?

My newest title kicks off the Wright Bastards series which has four books confirmed with a possible two more… This series is a spin-off from my Fallen Ladies series with a lot of cameos from prior characters. I hope to release the first three in 2022 with the last/rest coming out in 2023.

TEMPTING THE EARL by Amy Sandas

Wright Bastards #1

Tempting the Earl

She vowed to shield an orphaned girl from a prejudiced world.

Cynical yet fiercely loyal to those she loves, Ainsworth Morgan is determined to protect the child she raised against anyone who’d denigrate her for being born a bastard. She certainly isn’t going to allow some emotionless English lord, even if he is the lass’s unfortunately handsome half-brother, to take her away from the only family she’s ever known.

He’ll do whatever it takes to right his father’s past wrongs.

Colin Fitzhugh spent his life doing everything expected of him as the Earl of Wright’s heir until his father’s death revealed a secret he couldn’t ignore. Now, he’ll defy society to provide his half-sister with the life their vengeful sire denied her. But first, he must convince the girl’s headstrong guardian he’s not the callous monster his father had been.

When love is the greatest risk and the greatest temptation.

As Ainsworth begins to glimpse the sensitive and passionate nature concealed beneath the earl’s stoic reserve, it becomes harder and harder to ignore her growing attraction. But if Colin proves to be the kind and generous man she hopes he is, her fear of losing the daughter of her heart to his elegant world could become a devastating reality.

About Amy Sandas

Amy Sandas

Amy writes historical romance about dashing, and sometimes dangerous, men who know just how to get what they want and women who at times may be reckless, bold, and unconventional, but who always have the courage to embrace all that life and love have to offer.

Amy grew up in a small dairy town in northern Wisconsin and after earning a Liberal Arts degree from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities, she eventually made her way back to Wisconsin (though to a slightly larger town) and lives there with her husband, three children and a black lab. She spends her early mornings writing then heads to her “other” job, dreaming of the day she can write full-time. The rest of her time is spent trying to keep up with the kids and squeeze in some stolen moments with her husband.
