3--How did you decide where your book was going to take place?
This book is the prequel to my Etherya’s Earth series and takes place in Etherya’s world
4--Would you hang out with your heroine in real life?
Absolutely. Kilani is so strong and chooses to live her truth rather than a life others want to choose for her.
5--What are three words that describe your hero?
Strong, compassionate, sexy
6--What’s something you learned while writing this book?
I always wanted to write a prequel for this series and it reminded me how much I love writing in this world.
7--Do you edit as you draft or wait until you are totally done?
I edit as I draft.
8--What’s your favorite foodie indulgence?
Sushi. Anytime, anywhere. I’m lucky to live right outside NYC where they have fantastic sushi available.
9--Describe your writing space/office!
As an author in my mid-forties, I need lots of comfort and heating pads. My favorite writing chair is my old recliner with two heating pads I’ve strapped onto the back.
10--Who is an author you admire?
I love Nora Roberts as we all do. Her books were such a big influence on me and she’s such an inspiration.
11--Is there a book that changed your life?
Cosmos by Carl Sagan. It started my love of science which I still carry today. I’m a huge science dork and this is seen in all of my books (especially the Prevent the Past series which is a sci-fi time travel romance series!).

12--Tell us about when you got “the call.” (when you found out your book was going to be published)
I saved up money for years in my corporate job to be able to fund my indie author career. I finally published my first book, The End of Hatred, in November of 2018 and now I have over 20 books published (under both of my author names combined—I also write steamy contemporary romance under Ayla Asher).
13--What’s your favorite genre to read?
Romance but I also love sci-fi and non-fiction. I’ll read anything! I also love audiobooks and make all of my books into audiobooks.
14--What’s your favorite movie?
When Harry Met Sally
15--What is your favorite season?
Spring
16--How do you like to celebrate your birthday?
I love day drinking so usually at a winery with a pizza oven so I can get tipsy and then pass out by 9pm. Ha!
17--What’s a recent tv show/movie/book/podcast you highly recommend?
Dark on Netflix. It’s a twisty time travel show that blew my mind. Can’t recommend it enough.
18--What’s your favorite type of cuisine?
I really like food so that’s tough. Thai, Italian, Mediterranean…I’ll eat anything!
19--What do you do when you have free time?
I love karaoke, wine tastings and traveling.
20--What can readers expect from you next?
I’m currently producing some audiobooks and redesigning all the covers for my Etherya’s Earth series. Once those projects are completed, I hope to release several more books this year under Rebecca Hefner and Ayla Asher!
