1--What is the title of your latest release?

 How to Love Your Neighbor

2--What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book?

Noah Jansen and Grace Travis are next door neighbors. He wants to buy her house. She isn’t selling. In their efforts to convince each other, they accidentally fall and get heart makeovers neither of them was ready for.

3--How did you decide where your book was going to take place?

Book one was set in California so it was easy. I love California and miss going there so it was a happy place to spend time, even if just in my mind.

4--Would you hang out with your heroine in real life?

Absolutely. She’s fun, sassy, and very creative.

5--What are three words that describe your hero?

Intelligent, Underestimated, Genuine

6--What’s something you learned while writing this book?

That I miss watching home reno shows. It’s been a while.

7--Do you edit as you draft or wait until you are totally done?

I tend to email myself what I wrote that day, read it on my phone, make a couple notes, then correct before writing new words.

8--What’s your favorite foodie indulgence?

Well, I’m going to seem like quite an amateur here, or maybe just a child in an adult’s body: I love a giant chocolate chip cookie. I’m talking the entire Pillsbury roll as one cookie.

9--Describe your writing space/office!

It’s absolutely beautiful. I have a writing nook that was meant to be a closet with pretty wallpaper and white shelves. I have a wall of white bookshelves filled with my favorite books. The walls are a pretty pale purple and my Lego purchases, such as the Disney Castle and Friends apartments, along with Central Perk rest on the shelves. Oh, and it’s woefully underused lol. Even now, I’m sitting on my bed answering this.

10--Who is an author you admire?

So many. I’m going to go with Nora Roberts though because not only is she my favorite author but look what she’s done! She’s created her fictional world in real life. She’s incredible. I love her books and re read my favorites constantly.

11--Is there a book that changed your life?

I think all good books change us in some way. They leave a mark and make us different than we were before we read it.

12--Tell us about when you got “the call.” (when you found out your book was going to be published)

It was actually an email from my agent saying that an editor at SMP wanted to talk to me. I didn’t really believe it. Even after I talked with my now editor, Alexandra Sehulster, I didn’t truly believe it was all going to happen. Now, here I am with book two of three out and I’m just so blown away by how much people enjoy these characters, this world. I tend to spend a lot of time in between disbelief and gratitude.

13--What’s your favorite genre to read?

Romance. Closely followed by cozy mysteries.

14--What’s your favorite movie?

Oh wow. All of these kinds of questions should be plural. The Proposal, Definitely, Maybe, Two Weeks Notice, Music and Lyrics.

15--What is your favorite season?

Summer.

16--How do you like to celebrate your birthday?

With adoration and presents from the list.

17--What’s a recent tv show/movie/book/podcast you highly recommend?

I have one episode of the Morning Show left. It is amazingly written with incredible acting. Very relevant and a little weird to go back and watch it now when some of these things have happened. I’m always late to the game on shows and books.

18--What’s your favorite type of cuisine?

Cookies.

19--What do you do when you have free time?

Read, write, scroll the internet, text, build Lego, do puzzles slower than anyone on earth, hang out with my family because they’re awesome.

20--What can readers expect from you next?

Under Sophie Sullivan, book three, tentatively titled, A Guide to Staying Just Friends, will be out January 2023 and I might have some news I can share soon. Under Jody Holford, I have Lessons in Love coming out in March and my first in a new cozy mystery series, Home is Where the Body Is, will release this August.

HOW TO LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR by Sophie Sullivan

How to Love Your NeighborInterior Design School? Check. Cute house to fix up? Check.
Sexy, grumpy neighbor who is going to get in the way of your plans? Check. Unfortunately.

Grace Travis has it all figured out. In between finishing school and working a million odd jobs, she’ll get her degree and her dream job. Most importantly, she’ll have a place to belong, something her harsh mother could never make. When an opportunity to fix up--and live in--a little house on the beach comes along, Grace is all in. Until her biggest roadblock moves in next door.

Noah Jansen knows how to make a deal. As a real estate developer, he knows when he's found something special. Something he could even call home. Provided he can expand by taking over the house next door--the house with the combative and beautiful woman living in it.

With the rules for being neighborly going out the window, Grace and Noah are in an all-out feud. But sometimes, your nemesis can show you that home is always where the heart is.

About Sophie Sullivan

SOPHIE SULLIVAN is a Canadian author as well as a cookie-eating, Diet Pepsi-drinking, Disney enthusiast who loves reading and writing romance in almost equal measure. She writes around her day job as a teacher and spends her spare time with her sweet family watching reruns of Friends. Ten Rules For Faking It is her romcom debut novel, but she's had plenty of practice writing happily ever after as her alter ego, Jody Holford.
