1--What is the title of your latest release?

OUT OF THE BLUE

2--What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book?

A curvaceous woman on a wellness journey falls for her personal trainer. But will her newfound courage allow her to face her biggest fear and seize the life she truly wants?

3--How did you decide where your book was going to take place?

OUT OF THE BLUE is the fourth book in my Perfect Fit series, and all of the titles in this series have taken place in the fictional town of Granite, Texas.

4--Would you hang out with your heroine in real life?

Absolutely! Preslee is a kind, genuine character who has real insecurities like the rest of us. She’s clumsy, playful, and has a funny—if not quirky—sense of humor. She would be so much fun to hang out with.

5--What are three words that describe your hero?

Kind, positive, and competitive.

6--What’s something you learned while writing this book?

While writing OUT OF THE BLUE, I learned that not everyone takes the same path on their wellness journey...and that there’s nothing wrong with sometimes paving your own road.

7--Do you edit as you draft or wait until you are totally done?

Both. I edit minimally as I write to catch small grammatical errors. Then I edit fiercely after the manuscript is complete when I can reread the whole story and find plot holes or other big picture items.

8--What’s your favorite foodie indulgence?

Pastries! Anything sweet with a flaky crust.

9--Describe your writing space/office!

We moved into a larger home last year so I converted one of the extra bedrooms into my new office. It’s a small room, but it has a spacious walk-in closet for storage. I have a huge desk that separates into four pieces that can be easily arranged to suit any space. Some of my favorite décor are the items my husband has bought me—a Haitian statue of a kissing couple, a gorgeous pink rose that has been preserved and encased in a glass dome, and a beautifully lettered “I Love Being Yours” sign hanging on the wall that has been framed with reclaimed wood. There’s also a plush leather chair in one corner for when my husband or teenagers come into my office to visit me while I’m working. And they aren’t the only ones. At any given time, I usually have four dogs at my feet and two cats on top of my desk. With this much foot traffic, I think I need a bigger office.

10--Who is an author you admire?

I can’t pick just one. Nora Roberts, Linda Howard, Diana Gabaldon, Janet Evanovich, Heather McCollum, Carly Phillips, Lori Wilde, Rebecca Zanetti, and so many others.

11--Is there a book that changed your life?

WHERE THE RED FERN GROWS by Wilson Rawls was the book I read as a child that turned me into an avid reader.

12--Tell us about when you got “the call.” (when you found out your book was going to be published)

After finishing MORE TO LOVE (Book 3), I thought for sure I was done with my Perfect Fit series which features plus-size heroines. But when my editor approached me about writing more in this series, I, of course, couldn’t turn it down. I have such love for these books, and I was happy to continue writing them.

13--What’s your favorite genre to read?

I love happily-ever-afters so it’s all about romance for me. Historical (Scottish Highlanders—yes, please!), Romantic Suspense (love those military heroes!), Contemporary (hunky cowboys ftw!), Paranormal Romance (from sexy shifters to villainous vampires, anything goes!), and any other romance in between that catches my interest, of course.

14--What’s your favorite movie?

I can’t think of any one in particular that I would claim as a favorite, but romantic comedies usually rank at the top of my list.

15--What is your favorite season?

Fall is my favorite season. I like the cooler weather. I love watching all of the leaves change colors. There’s nothing better than drinking hot chocolate and roasting marshmallows over an open campfire.

16--How do you like to celebrate your birthday?

I usually like to do something low-key, such as going out to dinner at my favorite restaurant with my husband and kids. And there’s always cake!

17--What’s a recent tv show/movie/book/podcast you highly recommend?

Yellowstone. Yeah, I know I’m late to the game on this one, but I just started catching up to everyone else, and I’m loving it!

18--What’s your favorite type of cuisine?

I’m from South Texas so it’s probably no surprise that I love authentic Mexican food.

19--What do you do when you have free time?

I spend my free time mostly hanging out with my husband, two teenagers, and our six pets. I also enjoy refinishing furniture, crafts, swimming, reading, writing, watching movies, thrift store shopping, working on projects with my husband, and chatting with my family and friends.

20--What can readers expect from you next?

I’m currently working on the fifth and final book in my Perfect Fit series. Once that is finished, I’ll be moving on to a new cowboy series that I’ve been sitting on for a few years. I can’t wait to share more about this in the future!

OUT OF THE BLUE by Alison Bliss

Out of the Blue

Alison Bliss shares her smart, sexy, contemporary voice in this new rom-com about a curvaceous heroine falling for her personal trainer—perfect for fans of Olivia Dade and Kate Stayman-London.

The course of true love was never supposed to start on a stair climber…

Preslee Owens has never worked out in a gym before. Like truly never. Until today. As she struggles to stay upright on the stair climber, she accidentally broadcasts a vlog that lets complete strangers—and even worse, people in her own small town--witness the hilarious start to her fitness journey. To her surprise and mortification, viewers love it.

The positive reaction leaves Preslee with no choice but to return—and the discovery that her unrequited crush, Josh, works out in the same gym is a big bonus. It also helps that her new personal trainer is making sure she doesn’t kill herself in the process. In fact, Adam has even offered to pretend to be her boyfriend to help make Josh a little jealous.

Having Adam cheering her on brings out a strength and confidence Preslee barely recognizes in herself. And soon she’s enjoying being his fake girlfriend waaay too much. But will her newfound courage allow her to face her biggest fear yet and seize the life she truly wants?
