Hi!

My name is Denise Swanson and I’m really excited to participate in this fun challenge!  My newest mystery, WINNER CAKE ALL, is the third book in my Chef-to-Go series.  This series is perfect for readers of culinary cozy mysteries and small-town cozy mysteries.

Dani Sloan will have to solve the murder of a bride to clear her almost-boyfriend's name. Once again, it looks like Dani will get a slice of the action. . .

In the small town of Normalton, IL, there aren't a lot of opportunities for business owner Dani Sloan to cater big-ticket events. But that's about to change--a client named Yvette Joubert is marrying Franklin Whittaker, the richest guy around, and they want Dani to cater their engagement party! The swanky event is the perfect opportunity to put Dani on the map for wealthier clients.

But when a storm hits the party after guests arrive, it becomes clear that more than the dinner is ruined: Yvette is found dead beneath the marquee. Is her death a tragic accident, or a perfectly orchestrated murder? Then the case gets even juicier--it turns out that Yvette's ex-husband is Spencer Drake, Dani's almost-boyfriend, and the police start circling. Now Dani must follow an unending list of clues to save her business, her better half, and catch a criminal. Let's just hope they get their just desserts!

W – W is for Wild. Living with three college age girls, there’s never a dull moment.

I– I is for Impossible. There’s a lot going on in Normalton, IL that has no explanation.

N – N is for Never-ending surprises. Every time Dani turns around, there’s some new piece of information.

N – N is for Nice. Can someone as nice as Dani ever discover the truth?

E – E is for Extravagant. This is the most over-the-top event Dani has ever catered.

R – R is for Rules. After living with her college borders for nearly a year now, Dani finds that she must set down some rules.

*

C – C is for Caterer. Dani is so much more than just a caterer. She is also a personal chef, which gives her plenty of opportunities to snoop around.

A – A is for Altruism. Dani donates both time and materials to the local food pantry, another great place to find clues.

K – K is for the Korn Kings. A semi-pro baseball team that is a member of the Middle America Baseball League

E – E is for Enemies. The murder victim, Yvette Joubert, has more of them than friends.

*

A – A is for Alibi. Sadly, Jake doesn’t have one.

L – L is for Love.  Has Dani finally found a man she can love?

L – L is for Lesson. Dani and the three college girls who rent rooms from her learn a lot of lessons in this story.
