Dumped by her metrosexual snake of a fiancée just two weeks before
their "perfect" wedding, Julie Knott clings to her job as an
off–the–beaten–path reporter for a local news channel in
Pennsylvania and New Jersey. But even for her—a certified expert on all
things quirky, odd, or just plain weird—when she finds a wanted ad for a
wife (for "marriage and family," no less!), she realizes she's only begun to
scratch the surface of something truly bizarre: the mysterious, almost
criminally handsome French transplant, Andy Devine.

A reporter to her core, Julie can't help but wonder why this absurdly perfect specimen of maleness felt the need to put up a wanted ad for a wife (how medieval!)—and moreover, why, out of the tons of applicants flocking to him, he chose her!
