One of my favorite parts of marketing is working with my street team, Callie’s
Cohorts. It’s a friendly group that is supportive not only of me and my books,
but the other members. I wondered if it would help me better relate to my street
team if I had some kind of “Callie’s Cohort profile” so I recently invited all
164 members to participate in an informal, anonymous survey. Although the survey
netted a small sampling, I found some interesting tidbits. Here are the results:
How many books do you read per week?
Answers ranged from 1 to 8, with the average coming in right around 4.
What genres do you read?
Ranked in order of popularity (keep in mind I write primarily historical
fiction): Historical, Paranormal, Contemporary, Romantic Suspense. Several
readers indicated they read across genres.
How many street teams to you participate with?
The majority of readers said they belong to 2-4 street teams, but one-fifth of
the respondents indicated they belong to 10 or more street teams.
How often do you participate in street team activities?
I suspect the people who took the time to respond to my survey are among the
more active members of my street team, but on average, most individuals said
they participated daily to 2-3 times per week.
How were you recruited to join the street team?
The most common answer given to this question was “saw announcement/invitation.”
The takeaway for authors – invite people to join your group or street team!
What is your favorite way to promote authors?
Answers in order of popularity: Read and post reviews, Share info on my social
media and Participate in author events.
What is your favorite thing about being a street team member?
This open-ended question garnered the following responses (in no particular
order): Getting the inside scoop from authors, making reader friends, getting to
know the author, getting people excited about the books the street team member
has recommended.
What else do you wish the street team/author was doing?
Feedback from street team members included: having a weekly chat or contest,
offering more chances to review books.
I’d love to hear feedback on these questions from other authors and street team
members. Without my dedicated Cohorts, writing, publishing and marketing would
definitely be all work and no play.

Readers, check out THE BARON'S BETRAYAL, the fourth book in Callie's Marriage Mart
Mayhem series, now available.
THE BARON'S BETRAYAL
It's been two years since Lady Marion Tunstall lost her husband at sea. Two
years of sorrow and grief. Only now has the young, comely widow finally
re-entered society. It isn't until she and her family attend the merriment of a
country dance that Lady Marion sees her dead husband, alive and well... and
faints dead away.
Lord Tristan Tunstall has no choice but to confess - he is alive, yes, but not a
whole man who can be a husband and father. When he offers her a divorce,
however, Marion stubbornly refuses. Now she has forced herself back into his
life, and into his home and (oh, God forgive his weakness) his bed. He cannot
stop himself from wanting her. Loving her. But can he live with the secret she
is keeping from him?

Thanks for stopping by ladies. I agree, it's hard to find time to do everything we want to do. I hope you enjoy The Baron's Betrayal.
