Happy Book Birthday to Me. Happy Book Birthday to me... What? Hey, I was on
key. (Smile) I’m so excited about my release SHE WHO DARES, WINS, I
can’t wait for you guys to read it. If you like a sexy, romantic mystery,
you’ll have fun with this. It’s set in London and is about a tough detective,
Katie, who protects a hot professor, Mac. These know how to heat up a room. And
that’s all the promo I’m going to do. There are so many books to talk about
this month. So let’s get to it...
Can a grim reaper be sexy? That's exactly what Kristen Painter asked
herself before writing DARK
KISS OF THE REAPER. "I sat down to write something unlike anything I'd
written before," Painter says. "You see, my hero, Azrael is a grim reaper. The
Angel of Mercy, to be specific. How would a guy like that react to a living,
breathing human woman? The answer turned into one of the most interesting
stories I've ever written."
Linda Thomas-
Sundstrom's new release GOLDEN VAMPIRE is from Nocturne. It's full book one in her
Vampire Moons series about Blood Knights. "Being a history buff, and in
particular the legends surrounding Arthur and his Knights, I used this series
as a way to tweak those medieval tales, and bring them up to the current
century," Thomas Sundstrom. "This was so inspiring an idea, I can't stop
writing. And when my feisty heroines meet those immortal Knights, in different
countries, the danger and the immediate attraction runs them (and me) into the
red zone."
Kelly
Jamieson's a test is BREAKAWAY. "It’s a story
about a professional hockey player, which is a little different," she
says. "I’ve always been a big hockey fan and always wanted to write a romance
with a hockey player hero and this is it! He’s big. He’s tough. He’s gorgeous.
He’s dominant. And he’s falling head over hockey skates in love, with the last
woman he ever thought he’d fall in love with."
"My step-daughter and her husband got marred in Anchorage," says Jane Toombs the author of
TWO HEARTS AND A CROW. "Once there, I discovered the wedding reception
was to
be held in StuckAgain Lodge and the vows were to be exchanged down the hill by
the creek in back. I was greeted by huskies chained to their individual
doghouses as I entered the
lodge. Now picture the bride and groom, dressed formally, and the wedding
guests in their best, all with provided mud shoes on their feet descending the
muddy trail to the soggy side of the creek where the minister waited, also in
mud shoes. After the ceremony I asked him if this was the oddest wedding
setting he'd officiated at and he said, ‘No, I believe that was the marriage I
performed in a balloon.’ The reception buffet included reindeer sausage and
moose stew."
"I have two books out," says Summer Devon, "both
historical, both set in the 1880s. THE MAD BARON (Liquid Silver) takes place in England and POWDER OF LOVE (Loose Id)
is entirely in New York City. It wasn’t until we were deep into editing POWDER OF LOVE that I
noticed both had sex scenes set in private libraries. I must really have a
thing for libraries.
