What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book?
An orphaned schoolteacher moves to Fairydale to claim an inheritance but becomes entangled in a dangerous supernatural game as an ancient demon threatens to destroy the world and she might be the only one to stop him.
How did you decide where your book was going to take place?
The name Fairydale came to me first and I knew it was going to be the name of the town. The book relies on the character not having access to a lot of information, so I decided to set the action before the internet, cellphones and other easily accessible media.
Would you hang out with your protagonist in real life?
Yes! Darcy would be super fun to hang out with. She’s very analytical so I think we’d have great conversations.
What are three words that describe your protagonist?
Analytical, Hopeful, Optimistic.
What’s something you learned while writing this book?
It was fun learning about daily life during Ancient Roman times.
Do you edit as you draft or wait until you are totally done?
I edit in my mind before I sit down to write so the plot is more or less formed by the time the story gets written. All other edits are after the first draft is done.
What’s your favorite foodie indulgence?
Chocolate!
Describe your writing space/office!
It’s still a work in progress, but I usually just need a desk and my computer to write.

Tell us about when you got “the call.” (when you found out your book was going to be published)/Or, for indie authors, when you decided to self-publish.
I was on break from my master program during covid and I started writing as a hobby. I realized later I could publish the book. I’d dabbled in writing before but never actually finished a draft. I had all the time in the world then, so I decided to go for it and try my hand at publishing (Best decision everrrr)

What is your favorite season?
Spring or Fall, I don’t like extreme temperatures. 20-25 degrees (Celsius) is perfect for me.

Cake!!! Lots of cake.

Masters of the air—might be my favorite show ever!

Thai, Korean & Italian
