1--What is the title of your latest release?
JUST BEACHY
2--What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book?
Sydney Ryan has played a police detective on the hit show Murder 101 for so long that when she’s booted off the show everyone expects her to be able to solve crimes.
3--How did you decide where your book was going to take place?
I grew up on St. Pete Beach and lived on Treasure Island before moving to Atlanta where we lived for almost thirty years. I moved back down about four years ago after my husband died.
4--Would you hang out with your protagonist in real life?
Absolutely. I love Sydney Ryan and her grandmother.
5--What are three words that describe your protagonist?
Smart, “plucky” and determined.
6--What’s something you learned while writing this book?
The different branches of law enforcement.
7--Do you edit as you draft or wait until you are totally done?
It varies. I try to send in the best first draft possible, but once the book is turned in there will be revisions, copyedits, and a number of other opportunities to tweak things. It takes a while to be “totally done.”
8--What’s your favorite foodie indulgence?
I wouldn’t call myself a foodie, but I do love chocolate in all its forms. Oh, and I find Talenti Gelato (especially mint chocolate chip) pretty much irresistible.
9--Describe your writing space/office!
I am once again on the same waterway I lived on for so long, and my desk always faces that view.
10--Who is an author you admire?
I know and admire so many authors that I don’t think I can choose just one.
11--Is there a book that changed your life?
Every book I’ve read has impacted me in some way. Being an avid reader led me to want to become a writer.
12--Tell us about when you got “the call.” (when you found out your book was going to be published)/Or, for indie authors, when you decided to self-publish.
It’s been almost thirty years since my first book was published so while I can still remember my excitement, the details are not as sharp as I’d like.
13--What’s your favorite genre to read?
Women’s Fiction and Historical Fiction that revolves around female protagonists.
14--What’s your favorite movie?
Gone with the Wind
15--What is your favorite season?
Spring and Fall (Sorry! Couldn’t decide on just one!)
16--How do you like to celebrate your birthday?
In my family birthdays always begin with birthday cake for breakfast. This tradition began when I was in my early twenties and living with roommates. If you haven’t tried it, I highly recommend it.
17--What’s a recent tv show/movie/book/podcast you highly recommend?
I’ve recently become addicted to Murder She Wrote! I also love home renovation shows, especially Fixer Upper. In fact, I’d love to see the Ten Beach Road series on the Magnolia Network. Does anyone know Chip and Joanna Gaines?
18--What’s your favorite type of cuisine?
I’m an enthusiastic eater. I don’t think I can choose just one!
19--What do you do when you have free time?
Read!
20--What can readers expect from you next?
It’s time to discuss this with my publisher, but I’d love to give Sydney Ryan her own series.

A former actress in need of a reset reunites with her grandmother, her first crush, and the ladies of Ten Beach Road in this escapist novel from USA Today bestselling author Wendy Wax.
After losing her long-time acting gig on the hit show Murder 101, Sydney Ryan decides she needs a break from Hollywood politics. She heads to Treasure Island, Florida where her grandmother has been visiting and now refuses to leave. Sydney’s plan to lie low for a bit quickly goes awry though, as she is swept up in her grandmother’s now flourishing social life—Grand not only bought a new house in Casas de Flores, she’s also helping her neighbor Myra open a bookstore in Pass-a-Grille. But when someone breaks into Grand’s house repeatedly Sydney realizes her grandmother is keeping something from her.
Determined to ferret out the truth and protect her grandmother, Sydney enlists the help of the Ten Beach Road ladies and Luke, a local police officer who was once her high school crush. While Sydney puts her television crime-solving skills to the test, she decides to act on the sizzling chemistry between herself and Luke. And as Sydney spends more sunsets toasting to true friends and new romance, she begins to wonder if the sun is setting on her time in Hollywood and if this town could be the dawn of a new chapter.

USA Today bestselling author Wendy Wax is heralded for her contemporary women's fiction exploring friendship, loyalty, self-discovery and the seemingly insurmountable challenges life sometimes presents.Born in St. Petersburg, Florida, Wendy grew up on St. Pete Beach within spitting distance of the Gulf of Mexico. Appropriately enough, Wendy attended Sunshine Elementary School where recess and art class sometimes took place on the beach, and the highlight of every school year was the annual fish broil. Not surprisingly, some of her favorite Florida beaches were destined to become settings for her bestselling fiction, including her "Ten Beach Road" novels, TEN BEACH ROAD, OCEAN BEACH, THE HOUSE ON MERMAID POINT, SUNSHINE BEACH, ONE GOOD THING, and BEST BEACH EVER.Wendy's writing has been highly praised. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution says she "writes with breezy wit and keen insight into family relations." Her books have been featured in national publications such as USA Today, Ladies Home Journal and Woman's World, and at online book sites such as On a Clear Day I Can Read Forever, Luxury Reading, Book Reporter, Night Owl Reviews and Fresh Fiction.
