Instead of trying to find your perfect match in a dating app, we bring you the “Author-Reader Match" where we introduce you to authors you may fall in love with. It's our great pleasure to present Allison Raskin!
Writes:
Allison writes rom coms that feature painfully relatable protagonists with mental illness. Dive into stories that explore the realistic side of love while still celebrating the magic of finally finding your person. If you are looking for a lot of laughs, good banter and some heartwarming observations about the human mind, her latest novel, SAVE THE DATE, is for you!
About:
Allison is multi-hyphenate who has written both fiction and non-fiction. You might recognize her from Buzzfeed video or her YouTube channel turned podcast, Just Between Us. Allison has written in pretty much every medium that exists (books, TV, features, scripted podcasts) and she is beyond excited to (finally!) join the romance genre. In addition to her career as a writer, Allison is also a vocal mental health advocate and relationship coach with a master’s degree in psychology. She has an unhealthy fixation with dogs and doesn’t enjoy long walks on the beach due to all the sand.
My ideal reader match for my debut romance novel SAVE THE DATE must love:
- complex female protagonists
- psychology and all things therapy
- love triangles
- happy endings following heartbreak
- rich side characters based on my actual family
What to Expect If We’re Compatible:
- Some valuable takeaways about what it means to not just fall in love but stay in love.
- A lot of goofs.
- Unabashed portrayals of neurodivergence.
- Learning about my own messy love life through my characters as you try to figure out which parts are fiction, and which parts might have actually happened

You are cordially invited to the wedding of Emma Moskowitz and…someone…
When couples therapist Emma Moskowitz is unceremoniously dumped by her fiancé six months before their wedding, her world comes crashing down: her thriving practice, status as a trusted online creator, even her book deal all hinge on the fact that Emma is an expert when it comes to relationships and mental health. Not to mention the pain of a broken heart now interfering with her daily life.
But…if she could find a new groom by the wedding day, life could continue as she anticipated. After all, she’s ready to get married. And she’s never believed in The One anyway.
Her groom search catches the attention of podcast host Will, who offers to chronicle Emma’s story on a new show. Emma and Will hit it off instantly… It’s really too bad Will doesn’t want to be married.
Soon Emma’s set up with Matt, a kind, incredibly handsome, recently divorced man. Emma and Matt connect easily, proving her theory that Mr. Right doesn’t need to bring butterflies to her stomach and fireworks at every kiss. Her and Matt’s relationship is simple and comfortable—and more importantly, he wants to be married.
As the wedding date nears, Emma starts to question if she and Matt are as good a match as they think. Matt references his ex-wife a lot. And he doesn’t seem to understand Emma’s sense of humor that much. But the wedding is around the corner, and so many people are counting on Emma to see her plan through: her editor, her followers…even Will.
