A planet named Lumnara in a tiny village called Leighmullen.
Do you have any enemies?
If you’d asked me a couple of months ago, I would’ve said no. But now, there are more than I can count. The truth is, I’m not sure who I can trust anymore.
Greatest surprise in your life?
I’d say finding out an ancient Spark of unimaginable power has laid dormant within me since I was born. Or maybe learning that stories of fae and magic aren’t myths at all. Or possibly the fact that a spell cast centuries ago veiled those truths, including the fact that there was a great war between the humans and fae that’s about to repeat itself. I’m sure there are more, but that’s just off the top of my head.
Greatest source of joy?
Being in the woods, with nature. Or throwing daggers. Both are elixirs for my soul.
What do you do to entertain yourself or have fun?
Fun? You’re kidding right? I’m just trying to survive!
What keeps you awake at night?
The nightmares of seeing my parents’ vacant eyes staring back at me, at least that’s what throws me from sleep the most. What stops me from finding it is that somehow humankind’s survival rests on my shoulders. Stars, how did I go from just being a simple human girl to this?
What is the most pressing problem you have at the moment?
That no matter what we try, I can’t seem to wrangle the infinite power within me, and the personal cost at trying has proven…devastating.
Is there something that you need or want that you don’t have?
Peace. To turn back time. To return to being Nyleeria nobody from nowhere. For my days to go back to when I met Eithan in the woods to train and throw daggers. To when my biggest problem was my family’s unveiled disdain for my existence. Stars, at least then I’d know the rules to the game. Now, it’s just utter chaos.
Why don’t you have it? What is in the way?
Why? Because by some twisted joke of the fates, I was born with the Spark—and while I’d do anything to change that fact, my life is no longer my own.
