1--What is the title of your latest release?
AFTER THE RED CARPET
2--What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book?
After falling madly in love while on a film set (The Location Shoot), movie star Finn Forrester proposed to philosopher Ella Sinclair on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival. Now it’s time to build a life together. Ella moves into Finn’s Beverly Hills mansion and must adjust to his Hollywood world. Can Ella retain her own identity and still love Finn with all her heart? Find out if Ella and Finn live the life they’ve imagined, after the red carpet.
3--How did you decide where your book was going to take place?
After the Red Carpet is a follow-up to my novel The Location Shoot. At the end of that book Ella and Finn decide to build a life together in Los Angeles so that dictated the setting. I do love to mix it up though, so I found a way to get them to London for one of my favorite parts of the book. That was a bonus for me as I traveled to London to do research.
4--Would you hang out with your protagonist in real life?
Absolutely. She’s smart, fun, and kind with an adventurous spirit. She lives life to the fullest.
5--What are three words that describe your protagonist?
Creative, bohemian, passionate.
6--What’s something you learned while writing this book?
Ella struggled to retain her identity while also building a life with Finn. She shows us the best of what can happen to “me” in a “we.” While she’s in love with a Hollywood movie star and there’s a fairytale element to it all, the central theme is one I think many of us can relate to. I learned a lot about what true partnership looks and feels like.
7--Do you edit as you draft or wait until you are totally done?
I edit as I go. Each chapter is revised more than a dozen times. Then, the complete manuscript is revised many times as well.
8--What’s your favorite foodie indulgence?
Gluten-free fried clams and grilled lobster. I live in Maine so I’m able to indulge often!
9--Describe your writing space/office!
I’m super lucky. I have a beautiful office on the second floor of my home. It’s at the far end of my house so it feels private. I have parquet wood floors, an antique writing desk, a computer desk, and other spots to curl up and read. There’s a balcony that faces the yard, surrounded by trees. I have a table and chairs on the balcony, but truth be told, I never work outside. I’m too afraid of the bugs and other critters in Maine! I do escape to my favorite Parisian-style café a few times a week to write and indulge on macarons.
10--Who is an author you admire?
Laurel Richardson.
11--Is there a book that changed your life?
The first one I wrote, and each one since.
12--Tell us about when you got “the call.” (when you found out your book was going to be published)/Or, for indie authors, when you decided to self-publish.
I had two previous contracts with my fiction publisher, which I got one at a time, and sort of held my breath hoping to do more with them. Fortunately, they felt the same and I signed a multi-book deal which was a dream for me. After the Red Carpet is the first book to be released out of that agreement.
13--What’s your favorite genre to read?
Women’s fiction and romance.
14--What’s your favorite movie?
Cinema Paradiso.
15--What is your favorite season?
Autumn.
16--How do you like to celebrate your birthday?
With great food and friends.
17--What’s a recent tv show/movie/book/podcast you highly recommend?
I loved the Daisy Jones & The Six miniseries. Hacks has me laughing these days.
18--What’s your favorite type of cuisine?
French.
19--What do you do when you have free time?
Write, travel, watch movies, and go to art museums.
20--What can readers expect from you next?
My novel Shooting Stars Above is the first book in a romance series I’ve written. It will be out in March 2025. For fans of After the Red Carpet, Ella and Finn’s story continues in a final book coming out in September 2025 but we’re keeping the title under wraps for now. One tidbit, it takes place decades after The Location Shoot and After the Red Carpet.
A Novel
For fans of Tessa Bailey and Hannah Grace, After the Red Carpet is a feel-good, contemporary celebrity romance about what happens after the fairy-tale beginning as two lovers work toward their own true meaning of “happily ever after.”
After legendary Hollywood star Finn Forrester proposed to philosopher Ella Sinclair on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival, the couple captivated the press and public with their real-life fairy tale. Now they vow to prioritize their romance and live an adventure of their own making. Ella moves into Finn’s Beverly Hills mansion and must adjust to his world. Finn, secretly afraid of losing Ella, is determined to make everything perfect for his betrothed. Meanwhile, Ella wants nothing more than to retain her own identity as they build their new life together. All the while, she is writing a philosophical treatise on love, exploring the question: when we love so deeply, where do we end and where does the other begin?
In this highly anticipated follow-up to The Location Shoot, will Ella and Finn finally live the life they’ve dreamed of? See how their epic romance unfolds, after the red carpet.
