1--What is the title of your latest release?

LOVE LESSONS

2--What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book?

A loud music teacher and a boring math teacher are forced to share a classroom. Their lives are turned upside down after a one-night stand and a surprise pregnancy. Hamsters, fingerprinting, kazoos, and morning sickness can actually turn out to be the recipe for an HEA.

3--How did you decide where your book was going to take place?

I wanted it to take place in my hometown of Miami.

4--Would you hang out with your protagonist in real life?

YES! She’s fun fun fun.

5--What are three words that describe your protagonist?

Lol fun fun fun. No actually it would be: ambitious, artistic, charismatic

6--What’s something you learned while writing this book?

That I would never want to be a teacher

7--Do you edit as you draft or wait until you are totally done?

Edit as I draft

8--What’s your favorite foodie indulgence?

Pizza!

9--Describe your writing space/office!

My bed. Comfortable for a minute but then my back hurts from writing while laying on my stomach.

10--Who is an author you admire?

Kristin Hannah

11--Is there a book that changed your life?

Twilight. It got me back into reading. That bled to more reading and then eventually writing.

12--Tell us about when you got “the call.” (when you found out your book was going to be published)/Or, for indie authors, when you decided to self-publish.

I was at work (law firm) and my agent sent me an email asking if I was able to talk and I of course said YES. I stepped out of my office and then my agent gave me the great news! I yelled and called my husband and then my mom (or maybe the other way around)

13--What’s your favorite genre to read?

It was always contemporary romance until ACOTAR and then FOURTH WING now I’m really into Romantasy

14--What’s your favorite movie?

Duh…Grease 2 (2!!!)

15--What is your favorite season?

Winter (in Miami because it’s not as hot)

16--How do you like to celebrate your birthday?

Dinner with my family. Nothing big.

17--What’s a recent tv show/movie/book/podcast you highly recommend?

I'm really into the Below Deck Franchise at the moment. The world is such a mess I wanted to watch something silly and it’s been such a great escape to watch all the spinoff and different seasons.

18--What’s your favorite type of cuisine?

Cuban

19--What do you do when you have free time?

A year ago I would say Read (or audiobook) but lately I’ve been into all three NYT games (wordle, connections etc.. )

20--What can readers expect from you next?

I have something completely different in the works. I’m very excited about it but I think I’ll keep it a secret for now. But I’ll give you a hint…Acotar and The Fourth Wing were inspirations.

LOVE LESSONS by Sidney Halston

Love Lessons

Abbott Elementary meets Ali Hazelwood in this spicy rivals-to-lovers rom-com starring two kindergarten teachers whose one night stand leads to an unexpected nine-month lesson in love.

Quirky, free-spirited Valerie Marquez likes to make sure her kindergarten class has fun while learning. Uptight, by-the-book Andrew Wexler is allergic to fun, and loud music gives him a migraine, which makes sharing a wall with the other kindergarten teacher who loves to blast music all day his worst nightmare.

But during the end-of the school year party, their shared tension morphs into a night of wild sex. What neither expected was the surprise consequence of that night.

A baby.

And, if sharing a wall with her nemesis was hard, sharing a classroom with him, while she’s feeling hormonal and hungry, is much harder. Turns out that co-teaching isn’t the hardest thing they’ll have to overcome. Trying not to fall in love with her baby daddy is much harder.

About Sidney Halston

Sidney Halston

Sidney Halston lives her life by one simple rule: “Just do it.” And that’s exactly what she did. At the age of thirty, having never written anything other than a legal brief, she picked up a pen for the first time to pursue her dream of becoming an author. That first stroke sealed the deal, and she fell in love with writing. Halston lives in South Florida with her husband and children.
