2--What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book?
Fired, dumped, and evicted, Mackenzie Laurel recharges on a cruise, where a fling might just be what she needs to turn her life around.
3--How did you decide where your book was going to take place?
I’ve been on many cruises, so while on one I thought “this would be a great setting for a book!” I stuck with the Caribbean Islands, since that’s where I’ve visited the most.
4--Would you hang out with your heroine in real life?
Oh, totally! Beyond Mac being hard of hearing like me, I think we’d have a blast together!
5--What are three words that describe your hero?
Cocky, withdrawn, sincere
6--What’s something you learned while writing this book?
Able bodied characters are overrated. I really enjoy writing disabled main characters and I find it lends a lot to my stories, because disabled characters deserve love, too.
7--Do you edit as you draft or wait until you are totally done?
I fix up a few things here and there as I draft, but mostly I word-vomit and then clean it up after.
8--What’s your favorite foodie indulgence?
Cake. I can always be swayed by cake!
9--Describe your writing space/office!
I have a desk set up in a corner of my bedroom. I bought it this year and it has two levels, allowing for a monitor stand and the ability to stretch out. My gamer teenager is seriously jealous!
10--Who is an author you admire?
Alisha Rai.
11--Is there a book that changed your life?
Answer: Bet Me by Jennifer Crusie. During a long reading drought, this was the book I kept coming back to. It kept me going when I needed it most!
12--Tell us about when you got “the call.” (when you found out your book was going to be published)
I had submitted this book prior to landing my current agent. Once I signed, she jumped right in to follow up and helped make this magic happen!

Romcoms!

Spring
16--How do you like to celebrate your birthday?
Cake! Which stinks because my birthday sometimes falls on Passover.
Beyond the cake, I like having a day to relax and chill and be catered to.
17--What’s a recent tv show/movie/book/podcast you highly recommend?
Bake Squad! I don’t bake often, but baking shows are my comfort shows! I love this one for the diverse cast and friendly banter. And it’s not often I get to watch another hard of hearing person on screen!

American.
19--What do you do when you have free time?
I love to relax with a movie or TV show.

I’m working on a fun holiday romance!
