E.E. Hornburg | Title Challenge: THE FOREST’S KEEPER

twitterfacebookgoodreadsInstagram

Hi! I’m E.E. Hornburg, author of The Cursed Queens, a series of romantic high fantasy fairy tale retellings. I’m excited to be here today to tell you all about the third book, THE FOREST’S KEEPER, and a retelling of Little Red Riding Hood.

Rose is a warrior princess but is stuck playing heiress while her older sister – the real heir to the throne – is off breaking a curse and gaining allies. But all Rose wants to be off the throne with a sword back in her hands to avenge the wrongdoings of their stepmother, Amelia. When she’s beckoned to the ailing and enchanted Eral Forest, Rose sees her chance. Yet, there’s more than meets the eye in Eral and her destiny is far greater than she ever imagined.

T is for trees. The trees in Eral Forest are dying, but not drying up. They seem to be drowning in

an overflow of water coming into the Forest.

H is for heartbreak. But I won’t share why… no spoilers!

E is for Eira, Rose’s older sister and the rightful heir to the throne.

F is for friends to lovers. Rose has been best friends with Cal for years, and naturally has given

him some thought and noticed how handsome he is, but it never occurred to her he

might be thinking about her too.

O is for ogres who capture Rose and Cal on their journey.

R is for Rose. She’s the youngest daughter of the king of Cresin and a member of the royal

guard.

E is for the enchanted Eral Forest where most of the book takes place.

S is for swamp. Amelia is hiding out in the swamp, waiting to fulfill her plans, but something

else might be lurking there she doesn’t expect.

T is for test. Rose will be tested further than she ever anticipated.

S is for shape shifter. We meet Rafe, who serves the goddess of death and can turn into a wolf.

K is for Kartek. She’s the new chief of the Ogre clan and has grand plans to give her people a

higher rank in society.

E is for Emily. Me, the author!

E is for excitement. The Forest’s Keeper, and the whole Cursed Queens series, is full of

adventure and twists and turns!

P is for pirates. Two pirates join Rose on her quest, but can she trust them?

E is for enchanted weapons. Rose and Cal discover ancient and magical weapons that could

help them defeat Amelia.

R is for Renata, Rose and Eira’s Grandmother who is the Minister to Eral Forest and takes care

of those who reside there.

THE FOREST'S KEEPER by E.E. Hornburg

The Forest's Keeper

Rose never imagined sitting on a throne, but with her sister Eira still in the mountains warding off a curse, that's exactly where Rose finds herself. But all she wants is to track down the former queen Amelia and get Eira her crown back so she can have a sword in hand again and explore the blossoming relationship with her best friend, Cal. When a mysterious wolf shape-shifter tracks down Rose and tells her there's trouble in the magical Eral Forest, she's confident Amelia is behind it. Armed with a set of ancient and enchanted weapons, she and Cal travel with him out to Eral to seek out the sorceress and bring her to Eira to set things right again. But while on their quest, Rose and Cal find themselves captured by a clan of ogres, determined to settle a years old grudge against Rose's family, and their relationship pushed to its limit. They discover there is more to Amelia's plans than anyone knew, and there are more than sorceresses and ogres lurking in Eral who want their revenge. The fate of Eral lies in Rose's hands, and if she allows herself, finds her destiny may be far greater than she ever anticipated.
