1--What is the title of your latest release?

HAUNT ME

2--What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book?

Sabrina is slightly ‘life-challenged’. After being murdered by her jerk cousin, she’s been left to haunt her family’s estate. Unseen. Unheard. Ignored. But her family’s secrets have just been exposed, and the Houses that rule the world have sent ambassadors to recruit her relatives into their service. With them comes Kieran Aspen, a half-death fae, half-vampire former torturer, who can see her. And hear her. Her world gets turned upside down as a result…

3--How did you decide where your book was going to take place?

When I was invited to participate in the Immortal Vices and Virtues shared world series by Kel Carpenter, I blithely said “I want to write a ghost romance!”. And where better to set a slightly gothic romance, than the Highlands of Scotland?

4--Would you hang out with your protagonist in real life?

Absolutely. Although I might confiscate all the knives and pointy things first.

5--What are three words that describe your protagonist?

Haunt Me is told through dual perspectives. So, for Sabrina: sassy, funny, lonely. And Kieran: antisocial, feral, witty.

6--What’s something you learned while writing this book?

That I will get words on the page, no matter how challenging it might be. I dictated most of this book, and then heavily rewrote it, since stream-of-consciousness rambling isn’t very fun—or coherent, in my case—to read, LOL.

7--Do you edit as you draft or wait until you are done?

I had to edit as I went, due to the dictation. But I normally edit a little as I go, since I need to re-read often to make sure I haven’t missed details or duplicated information.

8--What’s your favorite foodie indulgence?

Chocolate. Any kind. Any time.

9--Describe your writing space/office!

It’s our spare bedroom (my work office) or the couch! LOL. I share the space with a spare bed and wardrobe, full of our ‘just in case we need their things (and way too many craft supplies).

10--Who is an author you admire?

Too many to mention. But if I had to pick one, Julia Quinn. I’ve loved her books for over a decade, and now seeing the Bridgerton series as a TV show – it’s very inspiring!

11--Is there a book that changed your life?

Two book series. Tamora Pierce’s Lioness Rampant series. It introduced me to fantasy as a teenager and hooked me on reading for life. And Anne Bishop’s Black Jewels Trilogy – it twisted and merged genres and was so unique when I first read it.

12--Tell us about when you got “the call.” (when you found out your book was going to be published)/Or, for indie authors, when you decided to self-publish.

I can’t remember when exactly it was – but during one of our (many) chats in 2021, Kel Carpenter said she was creating a shared world series and she wanted to know if I’d be interested. The answer was a YES.

13--What’s your favorite genre to read?

It varies depending on my mood, but I do love a good paranormal romance.

14--What’s your favorite movie?

I don’t have one. I have three, and they’re very…different. The Shawshank Redemption, Fight Club, and Finding Nemo.

15--What is your favorite season?

Winter.

16--How do you like to celebrate your birthday?

I take the day off work and go out to lunch or just chill at home. Now I have kids, I also like to have a little celebration at home with them in the evening, where we do cake and balloons. My toddler loves it.

17--What’s a recent tv show/movie/book/podcast you highly recommend?

Bridgerton!! And the first two books in the Immortal Vices and Virtues shared world: Reject Me and Queen Me!

18--What’s your favorite type of cuisine?

Dessert. But since that’s not technically a ‘cuisine’…Italian.

19--What do you do when you have free time?

I am not very good at arranging ‘free time, LOL. If I’m not working at the day job, studying for my Ph.D., or writing a book, you’ll find me with my family or sneaking in some craft activities.

20--What can readers expect from you next?

The fifth book in the Heaven’s Heart series, called SECRET PASSION, is due out next!

HAUNT ME by Amanda Pillar

Immortal Vices and Virtues #3

Haunt Me

Being a ghost sucked.

That was Sabrina’s hot take from the past year.

Zero out of five stars; do not recommend.

She’d drafted the entire negative review in her head, she just didn’t have anywhere to post it.

After her shithead cousin murdered her for power, she’d lost her body and turned into a ghost.

Unseen. Unheard.

Until he arrived.

Kieran Aspen was everything her ideal fantasy man was and more.

Dangerous. Feral. Damaged.

Well, maybe not that last one.

And best of all…he could see her. Hear her.

But his arrival has signaled the destruction of her family. Their lives and future are at risk now they’ve been discovered, leaving Sabrina sure of only one thing: Kieran will either be her savior, or her doom.

Only time will tell her which one.

Haunt Me is a spicy standalone paranormal romance set in the Immortal Vices and Virtues Universe. Every book is a guaranteed happily ever after with a satisfying ending and no cliffhangers. Perfect for fans of Immortals After Dark, Black Dagger Brotherhood, and the Demonica series.
