Jess Dylan | Title Challenge: FATAL FLOWERS

twittergoodreadsInstagramfacebook

“F” is for flowers and Flower House, of course,

The shop, which Sierra must run.

She got it from Felix, her odd former boss,

Who quit and took off in Book One.

“A” is for Augustus, better known as Gus,

A corgi, so friendly and true.

Once Felix’s pet, now Sierra’s fur-friend,

He’s awesome at digging up clues.

“T” is for treasure, a shadowy throughline

That sent Felix off and brought Calvin ‘round.

Sierra’s not sure what to make of it;

In time will she too be spellbound?

“A” is for Appalachia and Aerieville too,

The setting for every mystery.

With loads of charm and small-town appeal,

Plus mountain folklore and history.

“L” is for looklisten, and learn,

Habits of every good sleuth.

For Sierra, it’s second nature by now;

But risky as she nears the truth.

“F” (again) is for friendship and fun,

Which Sierra is lucky to find.

From Deena and Calvin to Richard and Rocky,

Her cohorts won’t leave her behind.

“L,” this time, is for none other than love,

For Sierra a long-held dream.

It might lead to marriage for the bride in this tale,

Unless things aren’t quite what they seem?

"O" is for optimism,

Possibly Sierra's best trait.

Her open mind has served her well,

Or maybe it's just fate?

“W” is for wedding, which takes lots of planning:

Invites, cake, table supplies,

Flowers and photos; music, make-up, and more...

Who’d want the planner’s demise?

“E” is for evidence,

Left at the scene;

From strange behaviors to cryptic last words,

What does it all mean?

“R” is for rumors and red herrings too;

This case will keep you guessing.

Can you sort out what's true and what's false,

Before someone starts confessing?

“S” is for superstitious

That’s sweet and quirky Granny.

Though her ways may seem strange,

Her results are uncanny.

FATAL FLOWERS by Jess Dylan

Flower House #3

Fatal Flowers

As Aerieville, Tennessee’s, Flower House finally gains in popularity, Sierra Ravenswood finds herself feeling ready for new challenges. Luckily, the shop has grabbed the attention of the mayor’s daughter, and bride-to-be, Marissa Lakely. Sierra is thrilled, and nervous, to land her most important job yet: providing flowers for the biggest wedding Aerieville has ever seen.

Fortunately, Marissa bucks all stereotypes and is far from a bridezilla—but her wedding planner, Taz Banyan, has apparently taken on the role for himself. He’s uptight, intense, and a little intimidating. But Taz aside, everything seems to be under control...until Sierra makes a startling discovery in the great room: the wedding planner, lying in a heap at the bottom of the stairs, in very bad shape. In fact, he survives only long enough to mutter: "It was the snake." As Granny Mae would say, seeing a snake is rarely a good sign, and this was clearly no exception.

With the town on edge and the wedding up in the air, Sierra refuses to stop asking questions in her determination to put an end to this latest danger—so both Aerieville and the Flower House can flourish once more.
