Re: Only Her (1:34pm September 28, 2016):

We have a mini-menagerie - 4 dogs (Midget, Aries, Taco and Idget), 6 cats (Smokey, Luigi, Sparta, Rex, Sable and Stubby), 3 aquatic turtles (Yellow, Johnny and Slider) and multiple birds, mainly parakeets, who are generally not named.

Re: Jordan's Return (2:59pm June 14, 2016):

I don't really have a favorite vacation spot, since almost all of mine while working meant going to see family, and since I have retired, I rather like to stay home since I traveled so much for work!

Re: The Diva Serves High Tea (2:56pm June 14, 2016):

Don't like tea, but shortbread cookies or fresh scones are good at any time!

Re: To Love A Wolf (2:53pm June 14, 2016):

There are several I am hoping to see--and probably will, just not in theaters! Independence Day and Finding Dory are just a couple of them.

Re: The Bones Will Speak (2:50pm June 14, 2016):

At least the supremacist bookstore was polite in thanking you for your interest!

Re: Vendetta (2:45pm June 14, 2016):

Haven't heard of this one before-sounds good.

Re: Into the Whirlwind (4:10pm May 28, 2016):

Rocky love stories explore the lengths to which humans can/will go to overcome difficulties to be with each other. These can be either internally or externally inflicted.

Re: Tommaso (3:59pm May 28, 2016):

I know that many men can do some not-so-nice things, but turning into a monster is a little over the top!

Re: An Enchanted Spring (3:54pm May 28, 2016):

I like to read time travel books because in the hands of a good writer, you can experience the changes that have, or possibly will, occur/ed.

Re: I Dream of Dragons (2:44pm April 26, 2016):

I figure out some way to read--probably under a couple of quilts (at least when it happens in the winter).

Re: Love Walks In (3:50pm April 14, 2016):

I am not a dare-devil, in any way, shape or form! I get a little nervous going up multiple levels in a skyscraper, and have no intention of stepping out on a glass floored observation, etc., whether in a building or over the Grand Canyon, despite how gorgeous the view might be!

Re: The Infamous Heir (4:16pm March 28, 2016):

I really do prefer reading books from a series in order. In fact, I will often start again from the beginning if there has been a real gap in the time of publication, since there so often are signals from one to another that really improve the appreciation of the overall story line.

Re: Bride of a Distant Isle (4:13pm March 28, 2016):

My earliest romance reads were almost all of the gothic type (except for Georgette Heyer of course) and although I really appreciate the lighter type, I am happy to see some of the classic type return.

Re: Taken by the Highlander (5:26pm January 2, 2016):

I let it come in quietly while I am sleeping--I have seen enough of them not to be too excited about it!

Re: A Different Side (1:29pm October 5, 2015):

Might be a good one to add to my TBR pile.

Re: Flames (1:57pm September 26, 2015):

I suspect that everyone has a variety of things which allow them to keep going. In the majority of cases, it is probably a combination of family, faith, and personal commitment. It is something I have never really thought much about--they were just a part of me and I always knew that I had that base to my life.

Re: Woman of the Mists (1:53pm September 26, 2015):

Personally, I prefer the Canadian First Nations to denote those of American Indian descent (of which I am one). After all, everyone born in the US is a native American!

Re: Meow If It's Murder (3:44pm January 14, 2015):

This one sounds rather interesting--most 'animal detective' stories are a little too cute.

Re: Hitting on the Hooker (3:33pm January 14, 2015):

I suspect rugby would join all other sports in my interest level--basically ZERO! But sports heroes are OK.

Re: More Than A Duke (3:29pm January 14, 2015):

The lady should be just that, but one with a sense of self and able to function with strength within the boundaries set by the time. The gentleman needs to have the ability to accept the fact that just being male did not make him a god, and have a sense of honor and humor.

Re: How to Plan a Wedding for a Royal Spy (1:53pm January 14, 2015):

Haven't started the series yet, but plan to do so. Winning one would help!

Re: Wind in the Wires (5:40pm December 16, 2014):

That was an interesting take on getting some first edit/critiques, and it is great that it worked out well for you.

Re: Seducing the Princess (5:37pm December 16, 2014):

I like humor, and unlike you apparently, am not particularly fond of dirty talking heroes. Definitely have to have independent heroines though.

Re: It's A Vampire Christmas (2:34pm December 15, 2014):

Vampires have certainly come a long way since Dracula's day!

Re: No Promises Required (1:31pm November 19, 2014):

Would depend largely on how they are 'bad'. Cocky and arrogant is one thing, mean-spirited is completely different. Prefer one with a good sense of humor, especially about himself.

Re: A Lady's Secret Weapon (3:19pm October 21, 2013):

Historical romance was my first love, and I don't really care which type it is--although my tastes have broadened, they are still a mainstay of my reading pile (which is absolutely huge!)

Re: The Butterfly Sister (3:16pm October 21, 2013):

Definitely sounds like a good read for a chilly evening.

Re: Murder At Hatfield House (3:12pm October 21, 2013):

The entire Tudor period is one of great interest to me, but Elizabeth's life (not just her reign) is truly fascinating.

Re: Fever (1:55pm March 7, 2012):

I really don't care--actually means--I care a lot, but I know you don't understand so I will work it out myself.

Re: Lure of Song and Magic (2:47pm January 18, 2012):

I really don't know if I believe in magic or ESP or not, but I do know that there are many things yet to be explained that could be explained by those things. Problem lies with proving them!

Re: The Lost Summer Of Louisa May Alcott (1:13pm June 15, 2011):

I always enjoyed Little Men even more than Little Women.

Re: Louisa And The Missing Heiress (1:11pm June 15, 2011):

I frequently imagine what the remainder of the lives of characters in books that I liked would be.

Re: Cover of Darkness (10:19am June 5, 2011):

Since one of my favorite reading genres is historical/Regency fiction, several of the military authors I like are those who write about the Napoleonic wars--Beverly, Putney, Heyer, etc.

Re: Forced to Kill (10:15am June 5, 2011):

A very good combination for the prize.

Re: Dirty (12:28pm May 22, 2011):

Actually, I feel that self-publishing might help a lot of good writers get a start, since readers for a publishing house can often pass on something that people really do want to read--and publish some real bombs as well.

Re: Willoughby's Return (2:25pm November 12, 2009):

I really don't know. I love the grace and sweep of the dresses during the mid-1800s, but the thought of the corsets and the pure weight of all that clothing in the summer is somewhat off-putting!

Re: Wild Blue Under (12:43pm November 9, 2009):

I like the idea of using a fantasy people that have not really been investigated up to now. Vampires, weres, ghosts, etc, are all pretty common themes recently, but haven't heard of the Mers before!

Re: The Wrong Side of Dead (3:13pm November 4, 2009):

This is just proof that much of the world arranges marriages for some form of gain. In the man's case, prestige (after all, even there it must be seen as a coup to 'win' such a young bride) and maybe someone to care for him. How many other wives has he gone through?? In the girl's case (or at least her family) some form of wealth or security probably.

Re: Possess Me At Midnight (2:05pm October 22, 2009):

Actually, I think romance does best with a little bit of humor mixed in--and that can be done in virtually any type of story, including those that are otherwise extremely serious. The type of humor does have to fit the plot though.

Re: My Wicked Vampire (2:16pm October 20, 2009):

The fact that humor is subjective can be proven easily by looking at what is considered funny in the stand up comics--I find that many things my grandchildren laugh at just make me a little sick. In books, I prefer some humor with the story--in many cases, it can be what is called 'black humor', or satirical, often with a fairly light touch. If the author tries too hard, it usually is not effective.

Re: Beast Warrior (1:52pm September 16, 2009):

Actually, I have been glad to find some paranormal stories that involve something besides vampire. Werewolves fit that bill!

Re: Seducing an Angel (2:27pm June 23, 2009):

One of the things that makes love separate from romance is the very fact that love takes many forms. Not only for a particular man and woman, but also for children and other family members, country, etc. There is also the fact that there are many articles on how to bring romance back into a relationship, but very few about how to love!

Re: A Thread Of Truth (2:27pm June 21, 2009):

Typos usually aren't a major issue with me. I am much more bothered by inaccuracies, except when an author has told me that it has been done for the sake of the storyline.

Re: Let It Ride (11:31pm May 11, 2009):

This summer will be a little busier than others because of 2 reunions--1 family, 1 celebrating the 50th anniversary of my class' graduation from nursing school. That doesn't seem possible, because I usually don't feel as old as the calendar tells me I am!
