Thriller

Facing the nightmare of their past is the only way out...

Mysterious computer wizard Seth Harper awakens in a bloody motel room to find he's not alone. The vacant eyes of a grisly corpse stare accusingly at him-the body of a young woman. Seth becomes the prime suspect for a heinous murder. If only he could remember what happened.

His former employer, bounty hunter Jessie Beckett, is determined to prove his innocence despite his gaps in memory. But when Seth is reluctant to reveal his own dark secrets, she must earn his deepest trust. Against all odds, she's in an uphill battle to save him-the man she hasn't stopped thinking about since he disappeared from her life.

But his plight is not what it seems. And both Jessie and Seth must confront the demons of their pasts-in the place where their nightmares began-before Seth becomes a sacrificial lamb to a ruthless killer. With one fatal mistake, more innocent lives could wind up on the wrong side of dead.

Re: The Wrong Side of Dead

A very, dirty, dirty old, old, old, old man. EWWWWW!!! Not love. I'm assuming barely lust even. For her part - what is she thinking???
(Mary Preston 1:12am November 4, 2009)

All I can think is, OMGoodness! I love that: is she a "goat/gold digger" remark! Too funny! Looking forward to reading your newest book!

And if you believe that....then I'm the tooth fairy!!!

I wonder how many diapers he goes thru each day??? I hope she doesn't have to change them!!!

Yewwww.
(
Mitzi Hinkey 3:09am November 4, 2009)

Yuck! Unless the guy's a vamp, I
think she got the short end of
the stick.
(
Lisa Richards 9:22am November 4, 2009)

The short end of the stick? What did you mean by that? :)
(
Jordan Dane 9:45am November 4, 2009)

This creeped me out on so many levels, but after I got to thinking about it, I think her family had more to do with this. Goat envy is my theory.
(
Jordan Dane 9:46am November 4, 2009)

Mitzi---That diaper image has invaded my brain in a bad way and I'm wishing there was a way to UNREAD something. Too funny.
(
Jordan Dane 9:55am November 4, 2009)

The diapers did me in! I get upset with an 80 year old marrying a youngster!
(
Karin Tillotson 9:59am November 4, 2009)

I do agree it is very odd in our society but customs are different there. I feel sorry for the girl because I am sure that her family is using her for gain by marring her to the old man. The good thing is she probably will not be married long because of his age she will become a young widow.
(
Annetta Stolpmann 10:15am November 4, 2009)

Great Book trailer.
(
Annetta Stolpmann 10:18am November 4, 2009)

I agree, Annetta. The girl is in the middle of all this--manipulated by her family & forced to marry the old dude. Makes me thankful for what I have.

And thanks for checking out my trailer. The film guy who did it is an up and comer in the film industry in CA. Very talented. John Schimke with Novelshoutmedia, his new company. And he was very professional and great to collaborate with. Glad you enjoyed it.
(
Jordan Dane 10:21am November 4, 2009)

I don't think it's a love match for sure; she was probably by family to marry this old man. And his side of the story? he's just a dirty old man.
(
Diane Sadler 11:23am November 4, 2009)

Different strokes for different folks - but can you imagine - being married to someone old enough to be your great-grandfather or maybe even great-great-grandfather? I personally don't have a daddy complex. The Wrong Side of Dead is next in the TBR pile! Can't wait!!
(
Kelli Jo Calvert 11:44am November 4, 2009)

Hey Diane & Kelli--Thanks for your comments. I thought about those two playing trivial pursuit. I have a hard enough time on a team with my husband who is 5 yrs older. Can you imagine 100+ yrs difference? And I wasn't kidding about the guy's birth certificate being written on a goat skin.

Thanks for buying the book, Kelli. I think I'm in love with Seth Harper.
(
Jordan Dane 12:33pm November 4, 2009)

I can't believe its love, no way. Did her parents sell her? Don't we arrest men for that in this country? 3rd world places are so different.
(
Theresa Buckholtz 1:28pm November 4, 2009)

Thanks for your comment, Theresa. It really makes you appreciate certain liberties we have in this country. Can you imagine not having any real worth in your own family except as chattle? Pretty scary.
(
Jordan Dane 1:53pm November 4, 2009)

This is just proof that much of the world arranges marriages for some form of gain. In the man's case, prestige (after all, even there it must be seen as a coup to 'win' such a young bride) and maybe someone to care for him. How many other wives has he gone through?? In the girl's case (or at least her family) some form of wealth or security probably.
(
Carol Gowett 3:13pm November 4, 2009)

I'm glad someone wanted him because I sure wouldn't. No Thank You! I think I would need proof too. Funny how different cultures marry multiple times, have dozens and dozens of children. How do they keep track with which night do they go to which wife? FREAKY!
(
Lisa Glidewell 4:35pm November 4, 2009)

I think I'd want him to have old-timers disease and forget we were even married, but that just might be me. Thanks, Lisa.
(
Jordan Dane 5:16pm November 4, 2009)

Wow, that's a little disturbing. I do wonder what her real motive was in marrying this guy.
(
Jane Cheung 5:30pm November 4, 2009)

17 yrs old, it's hard to believe she was TOO involved in the actual decision. And in her wedding photo, she looked so miserable too. bet the guy smells like an old goat. At that age, I think things start dying inside. Oh wait, that could be a cool plot.
(
Jordan Dane 5:37pm November 4, 2009)

Thanks to all of you who swung by and gave me a laugh today. I'm off to do promo on my latest book--hitting the road. If I've learn ANYTHING from this post today, I'm NEVER too old to have a good time.
(
Jordan Dane 6:08pm November 4, 2009)

Nice trailer. Too each his own as far
as the marriage is concerned. There
are a lot of odd marriages out there.
This one could well be better than
several I know of.
Good luck with THE WRONG SIDE OF
DEAD. Will be checking on your books
for our library. We need some more
suspense authors.
(
Patricia Barraclough 12:10pm November 5, 2009)

Did anyone really look at that picture? The ancient letch looked like he had the gold ring, but the CHILD looked about as happy as a kicked dog! And it looked like force had been used on her...her right eye is swollen. That is just wrong!
(
Patsy Hagen 2:15pm November 5, 2009)

Noticed what the bride groom said. "It is a blessing to have someone you love to take care of you," he said. Heck, He just wanted someone young enough to take care of him. LOL..Sorry, but this is hilarious and the best laugh I have had in weeks...LOL But I do feel sorry for the girl as she was probably sold or traded by her family.
(
Brenda Hill 9:28pm November 8, 2009)

Definately not a gold digger, but a true love!
(
Brenda Rupp 8:59pm November 9, 2009)

i love your books
