Hi, everyone! My name is Harper St. George and I’m here to tell you about my new book, ELIZA AND THE DUKE. This is the second book in my The Doves of New York series about illegitimate American heiresses who must find aristocratic husbands to collect their inheritances.
Eliza is a brash and intelligent youngest sister who wanted far more for herself than to be the wife of some stuffy aristocrat. She’s grudgingly accepted her fate but isn’t opposed to a little fun before saying “I do.”
Enter Simon Cavell, mild-mannered manager of Montague Club. When Eliza accidentally discovers his secret identity as a prizefighter, she wastes no time in using the knowledge as leverage—if he takes her on one glorious evening adventure to the darker parts of London, she’ll keep his secret.
Little do they suspect that one night is just the beginning.
E is for Eliza Dove. She is the youngest of three sisters from New York who have come to England to find husbands.
L is for London. Eliza and her sisters take up residence in London to attend all the balls of the Season on their quest to find husbands.
I is for Impulsive. Eliza’s biggest flaw—some might call it a feature—is that she’s very impulsive. It’s what comes from being the youngest sibling.
Z is for Zealous. Simon is indebted to a ruthless man who runs Whitechapel and is zealous in his determination to get every cent from Simon…even when Eliza gets in his way.
A is for Aristocrat. Eliza has to marry an aristocrat to get access to her inheritance.
A is for American. The Dove family are Americans hoping to score titled husbands.
N is for Night. Eliza propositions Simon for one night on the town before she has to marry a man she doesn’t love.
D is for Duke. Simon has a secret identity as the Duke, a bare-knuckle brawler from Whitechapel.
T is for Tension. Eliza and Simon fall for each other long before they figure out a way to be together. The romantic tension between these two is nearly explosive (until it does explode in a carriage!)
H is for Happily-Ever-After. It’s not a straight and easy path for Simon and Eliza, but they do get their HEA in the end.
E is for Engagement. Eliza is engaged to a very suitable aristocrat whom she doesn’t love and can’t really stand.
D is for the Doves of New York. This is the series name. Each book will follow one of the Dove sisters on her quest for love.
U is for Unbutton. This is what Simon does for Eliza and her row of buttons in a carriage (see T above.)
K is for Knickerbocker. The old families of New York during this time were called Knickerbockers. Eliza’s biological father is a Knickerbocker from an old and wealthy family, who never publicly claimed his illegitimate children, Eliza and her sisters.
E is for Emotional. Eliza and the Duke is a forbidden romance with class differences and a hero who doesn’t think he deserves the heroine and a heroine who is determined to get what she wants. You’ll feel all the emotions!
Doves of New York #2

American heiress Eliza Dove was resigned to a polite marriage of convenience...until she spent one wicked night with the Duke.
All hopeless romantic Eliza Dove asked for was one night of adventure. One glorious evening of freedom to explore the dark corners of London with a mysterious stranger before a lifetime trapped in a quiet, respectable marriage of convenience. Except now she wants more. Now she wants him.
Simon Cavell is no gentleman. Known only as ‘the Duke,’ Whitechapel’s prize boxer is one fight away from achieving his goal: to safeguard his late sister’s only treasure and leave the streets for good. He cannot allow some pretty young heiress to spill his secrets, no matter how tempting she might be. In return for her silence, Simon will give Eliza a taste of the darkness…and hope he doesn’t lose his heart in the process.
But one night together could never be enough. And now Eliza has a new plan—an even more scandalous bargain that will either land the heiress her duke or ruin them both.

Harper St. George was raised in rural Alabama and along the tranquil coast of northwest Florida. It was a setting filled with stories of the old days that instilled in her a love of history, romance, and adventure. By high school, she had discovered the romance novel which combined all of those elements into one perfect package. She lives in Atlanta, GA with her husband and two young children.
