Read, Write, Love, Help, Shop Charity Fundraiser, October 4-14

Books and advance copies from your favorite authors like Eloisa James, Nora Roberts, Julia London and so many more; critiques of your works in progress from authors like Charlaine Harris, editors and agents; promotional opportunities; and just plain fun stuff like Harry Potter movie posters signed by producter/director Chris Columbus! Great stuff, just in time for the holidays!

I'm currently in the thick of organizing a fundraiser for Love Without Boundaries, an excellent nonprofit that provides medical care to orphans in China -- the project has been exciting, challenging, heartwarming and eye- opening. I hope that everyone who reads this article will come over to the auction site and bid generously! There is such a great need for funds to help out these precious children in China.

The idea for this fundraiser came to me only days after my husband and I submitted our Letter of Intent to adopt Chu Yongchen, a little girl born with a cleft lip and palate living in the Chuzhou Social Welfare Institute in the Anhui Province of China.

The huge need for medical care for the millions of orphans in China hit home for us as we started our adoption journey and found our daughter on our agencies waiting child list. We investigated not only her particular need, but also learned so much about so many challenges faced by these precious children. So many whose lives can be changed by just a few thousand dollars, some even just a few hundred! Five hundred dollars can repair a cleft palate. Five thousand can save a heart baby.

When I put the call out to friends and colleagues, I was humbled -- though not surprised -- by the generosity of all who are donating. We have a range of great items to bid on, from signed books, to Hollywood memorabilia, to critiques of your book or screenplay by editors, agents, and managers. Just to give you some idea, we have a Harry Potter movie poster signed by director Chris Columbus; books from Julia London, Eloisa James, Christine Feehan, Nora Roberts and so many more; goodies from author Nelson DeMille, manuscript and screenplay critiques offered by authors such as Charlaine Harris, as well as by literary agents and Hollywood mangers, and autographed books by Joe Lansdale, Nora Roberts, and many, many more of your favorite authors.

The auction will go live on October 4, 2006 and remain active for 10 days. For more information, go to juliekenner.com -- and please, bid generously! With love,

Julie Kenner
