Monster Flash, or Best Monstor Meatballs!

Kathy Carmichael was thrilled to learn that her book, Hot Flash, was named by ALA-Booklist as one of the Top 10 Romance Fiction titles in 2009. To help her celebrate, the heroine of Hot Flash, chef Jill Morgan Storm, offers the following recipe for Halloween monsters on the prowl:

MONSTER MEATBALLS

Ingredients

Meatballs:

1 lb lean hamburger

1/2 cup Italian-style dried breadcrumbs

1 egg

3 TBS catsup

2 dashes Worcestershire Sauce

Monster Sauce:

1 can Campbell's Tomato Soup

1/2 can water

Rice (any style) (approximately 2 cups prepared)

For Meatballs: Mix hamburger meat, breadcrumbs, egg, catsup and Worcestershire
Sauce, then form into golf ball-sized balls. Spray skillet with PAM, then
brown.

For Monster Blood: Mix tomato soup with 1/2 can of water. Pour over browned
meatballs in skillet. Simmer about twenty minutes.

Serve over prepared rice.
