Some would say itβs the most romantic time of the year. Whether you have a
sweetie to snuggle up with or not, it wonβt matter because Iβm about to share
some books that will keep you warm no matter what.
The first,
Wicked By Any
Other Name, comes from my lovely friend
Linda Wisdom. I adore her
books, because she never fails to make me laugh.
βI always I always knew that one of the witches would be a true romantic,β
Wisdom says. βWhat I didnβt realize is that Stasi, the sensitive one with a
heart of gold, would encounter crazed townspeople that would bring to mind her
memories of living in Old Salem during the Witch Trials or that she could end
up being a victim of that hysteria. But Stasi proves herself even if she
hiccups iridescent bubbles when sheβs nervous and is cursed with red hearts
over her head thatβs echoed over Trevβs head meaning Cupid has deemed them soul
mates. Further proof you donβt mess with Cupidβs domain.
βThere are many days Iβm convinced my books write themselves. That the witches
whisper in my ear βIβll take overβ and I let them. For me, the stories revolve
around them and even their personalities. Theyβre crafted first and the story
easily follows from there. In all my years of writing Iβve never had as much
fun as I have now.β
I heart my friend
Annette
Blairβs Cartwright triplets. The latest is
Never Been Witched, and
tells Destinyβs story. A paranormal debunker and a psychic witch try to avoid
each other by unknowingly retreating to the same lighthouse. With one bed and
crazy chemistry, it takes an angel and two ghosts to help them come to terms
with the past and make way for the future. These fun romantic comedies just
absolutely make my day!
A Highlander of Her Own
is the latest from
Melissa Mayhue. Ellie Dentonβs world is spiraling out of control.
Animals talk to her, and her life has become more than complicated. A new
birthmark makes life even tougher when she discovers it has a connection to her
Faerie ancestors. βI think this is my favorite book so far,β Mayhue says. βI
really connected with the heroine in this story. When I was writing her she,
and her dogs, just seemed to take on a life of their own.β
Be careful around
Kathy
Carmichael or she just might put you in a book. βWhile I was writing
HOT FLASH, I visited my
family in Texas,β she says. βMy niece, then about thirteen years old, listened
to my sisters and I cackling and howling with laughter over something we found
amusing and probably the rest of the universe wouldn't. She slowly approached
us, wagging her head from side to side, and finally said, "You guys are sooo
weird." My response? "I'm sooo putting you in my book." And I did. Check out
the baby shower scene in βHot Flashβ to find out how.β
Dead Right is the first
in a new series from
Cate
Noble. After eighteen months in a secret prison in Southeast Asia, Dante
Johnson wants only to move on with his life β until a bomb attack makes it
clear that someone, somewhere won't let the past go,β she says. βAll signs
point to Catalina Dion, the brilliant foreign agent he once believed himself in
love with...the same woman suspected of selling him out.β
Iβm really looking forward to the new Young Adult novel,
Evermore, by
Alyson Noel. Since an
accident claimed the lives of her family, Ever can see auras and read peopleβs
thoughts,β says Noel. βPeople think sheβs a freak and she goes out of her way
to avoid them. Everything changes, though, when she meets the gorgeous, exotic
and wealthy Damen.β
Claudia
Dain says that she had a completely different hero in mind for Amelia in
The Courtesanβs
Wager. βAbout a third of the way through, another man poked his head in and
wouldn't take 'no' for an answer. Somehow, to my complete shock, he became the
man for Amelia. Not only was I stunned, but so was Amelia, and her surprise
that this is the man she loves forms the heart of the book. Who is the hero?
Read it and be as surprised as we were.β
Rodeo cowboy Dakota Scott has his hands full when his truck breaks down in a
small New Mexico town, and he runs into a woman who really needs his help in
Riding the Line, by
Kate Pearce. βItβs kind
of like one of those old black and white movies with the wise-cracking heroine
and the Alpha hero on a road trip,β says Pearce.
Carolyn
Jewelβs new title
Scandal says it all. The Earl of Banallt is enthralled with
Sophie Evans, who refuses to be seduced by him. Years later, when sheβs
widowed, the Earl tries again, but she has a difficult time believing his
attentions are true.
C J Lyons has a new
hospital drama,
Warning
Signs out this month. Amanda Mason is trying to finish medical school, and
keeping a troubling secret. The only person who seems to notice is the
devastatingly handsome Dr. Lucas Stone.
I love the title
Bikini
Diaries by
Lacey
Alexander. Businesswoman Wendy takes a trip to Florida and has no idea who
itβs going to change her life when she puts on a bikini and adopts a new, sexy
attitude. Fun stuff!

Iβm running out of room, I told you there were lots of books
to keep you warm this February, but donβt forget to check out
Carla Cassidyβs two
releases from Harlequin,
A
Hero of Her Own and
Profile Durango. And
Eileen Wilkβs
Mortal Sins, which is the fifth in her series about a FBI Agent
who isnβt entirely human. Oh, and last, but not least,
Fallen from
Cindy Holby. This is one
historical you just have to check out.
Happy Valentineβs Day!
