As I read more and more Harlequin and Silhouette books each month, and I
open my mind and home library to different genres, I have found a common problem.
I can never cover all of the books I wish to cover each month. Starting in May,
I will break my column down into two sections. The first will
include my favorite books from Harlequin's cycle 1. These are the first set of
books to hit the shelves each month. Then about the middle of the month check
back for the second column including books from cycle 2, books showing up after
the second Tuesday of each month. I hope you enjoy my selections from the first
cycle, there were many to choose and I will cover all of my
favorites. Letβs leap into spring together with a few good reads.
Harlequin Blaze Must Reads
NIGHTCAP by Kathleen OβReilly never
disappoints. For Cleo Hollings, the only nightcap she needs is hunky club
owner Sean OβSullivan. Sean is bound and determined to prove his club is a
victim of the corrupt City Hall. Cleo, being the right hand woman of the mayor,
comes to his
rescue, discovering once and for all the real story. After realizing
Sean plans to keep her busy day and night, she pays him back in her own
way--between the sheets. One thing Cleo didn't count on
was loving this man who claimed to be untouchable. HAVE MERCY
by Jo Leigh was a book
I couldn't put down and left me begging for more. Will may be up to something,
but hotel pet concierge Mercy will show no mercy when trying to discover his
secret. Not only is his dog adorable, but his suite turns her on too.
Harlequin Historical Must Reads
TAKEN BY THE VIKING
by Michelle Styles is
a one-of-a-kind read. When a Viking claims he comes in peace, do you believe
him? Run for your life? Or are you scared enough to be
intrigued? As the Vikings begin to take over the only home Annis of Birdoswald has
ever known, her only chance of survival is a Viking by the name of
Haakon Haroldson. Haakon takes Annis from her home to a foreign land, where
he claims to be protecting her. In the beginning, Annis may fight Haakon, but
when time comes for her to make a choice to stay as the Vikingβs mistress or
return home, which will she choose?
Kimani Romance Must Reads
When I find an author or a genre I love, I stick with it. The only time I
open up to another genre or author is when a friend pushes the book on me or
when I have no other books to read. This year I made a New Yearβs
Resolution with myself, one I'm happy to say that I have kept.
I read IRRESISTIBLE
FORCES by Brenda
Jackson and fell in love with the Kimani line of books. Sad to say, this is the
only book I have read so far from this line, but I will read more in the months
to come. Who wouldn't want a week of mind-blowing sex? Dominic is a man with
means and he has heard some excessive proposals before. But Taylorβs is very
tempting and one of the more extreme proposals yet. All Taylor wants is for
Dominic to father her child. No strings, no money, nothing. Just a baby and
Dominic would not be responsible for the baby. But at the end of the week will
Taylor end up pregnant? Will Dominic want to be a part of his unborn child and
Taylor's lives?
I hope you enjoyed my picks for cycle 1. Remember to check back in a couple
of weeks for my picks from cycle 2 that include: Silhouette Desire, Harlequin
Romance, Harlequin NASCAR, and much more.
If you have any comments, questions, or suggestions please leave me a
message. Until next time...Tonya
