The Love Fix
by Jill Shalvis
"Journey past your childhood."
Posted June 19, 2025

Certain authors can be read repeatedly. I search out anything penned by Jill Shalvis. Some of my friends don’t understand my devotion to some particular authors. If I get them to read anything by this amazing prolific creator they often tell me that they now understand.

Cruel Summer
by Maisey Yates
"Stepping out of your comfort zone could hold many surprises"
Posted June 19, 2025

I remember the first time I heard the expression - swingers. Candidly I imagine folks who like going out, drinking, and dancing. Yep. Naive that was me. Then I found out I actually know some who are “swingers.” My next thought was yuck. Never could look at them Read more...

Sunset
by Sharon Sala
"Beautifully crafted story deftly illustrated"
Posted June 9, 2025

Sharon Sala’s talent overflows with imagination. She surely could have been a poet with her word scope and in SUNSET we are once again entertained and enthralled by the way she creates and describes scenes and characters, like poetry for sure.

Hidden Nature
by Nora Roberts
"Fascination with cultlike beliefs is front and center in Nora Roberts newest book."
Posted May 23, 2025

No one does characters and dialog better than one of my favorite go-to authors. Nora Roberts and I have had a long, amazing relationship and HIDDEN NATURE is a perfect example of why that is.

Family traditions are front and center in this story. When their Read more...

The Wife Before
by Shanora Williams
"Challenging work to separate truth from fiction. All the earmarks for a well written who dun it."
Posted May 2, 2025

Interesting look at a group of dysfunctional characters. None really sympathetic. Candidly not much to like about any of them. So at first, you may wonder just where the author is heading, and this is a story that has innumerable twists and turns. I consider myself a talented armchair Read more...

Only The Beautiful
by Susan Meissner
"Extraordinary historical fiction"
Posted March 17, 2025

The title of this often heart-wrenching book ONLY THE BEAUTIFUL by Susan Meissner is an anomaly of being created in God’s image. As stated in the opening with a quote from Genesis you are want to wonder what happens when the creation is less than perfect Read more...

Dead Man's List
by Karen Rose
"Awesome look into the mind of a serial murderer."
Posted March 11, 2025

Playing homicide investigator was never more challenging and candidly fun – in a grisly sort of way. Funny how you can get over the sight of blood rather quickly and dare I suggest easily once you are enmeshed in the search for a monster. Well, it must be a Read more...

Blood Moon
by Sandra Brown
"Absolute Page Turner From the First Page"
Posted February 28, 2025

The first thing you will notice is that there are several characters that would like the disappearance of a young girl to remain a closed issue. A  young man was found guilty. There has never been a body, nor a motive for that matter. Two characters in particular Read more...

Rustler Mountain
by Maisey Yates
"Separating fact from fiction turns out to be a difficult task."

To Sicily with Love
by Jennifer Probst
"Seems that the life coach could use help with her own life"
Posted February 19, 2025

Enmeshed in a lovely heartwarming story about self-discovery are pearls of wisdom interwoven in her characters’ dialog. Pretty ingenious and soul-searchingly wondrous. Exactly what we’ve come to expect from Jennifer Probst. Life doesn’t come with an instruction manual. Outcomes are somewhat random Read more...

Let's Call Her Barbie
by Rene Rosen
"Entertaining and informative look at the Barbie legacy"
Posted February 17, 2025

Right off the proverbial bat, you will identify with this look into the past. Toy manufacturing and marketing past. I often, and sometimes less than fondly, remember the doll craze of, you guessed it, Cabbage Patch dolls. My daughter was just the right age for that craziness time. Not Read more...

Brewing Up a Bad Boy
by Katherine Garbera
"Romcom at it's best all while in the guise of brewing up at good cuppa"
Posted February 9, 2025

BREWING UP A BAD BOY is a rather light-hearted tale by the very entertaining and creative author Katherine Garbera. You have to take the title as literary license once you catch on to the double entendre of the title and for that matter the storyline.

Order of Swans
by Jude Deveraux
"Take a journey to another planet."
Posted January 24, 2025

I vividly remember when I first realized that fairy tales were actually fashioned after some perhaps gruesome or extremely sad premises. Looking for a successful conclusion or happily ever after resolve, the stories themselves were rather steeped with possible harsh events. Most certainly life-altering for some characters. Think Read more...

Sandra Wurman

An avid reader for all my life and reading is one of my passions. I’ve been an independent reviewer for several years now and have covered just about every genre from a vast number of publishers and authors. Another perk of reviewing is getting a first glimpse of new and upcoming works from talented authors. As a reviewer I have had the fortune to meet new authors and become reacquainted with some tried and true ones. One of the most rewarding aspects of reviewing is having your work acknowledged by authors and/or publishers. The inclusion of one of my reviews on a book jacket or on an author’s website is a supreme compliment and always appreciated. With the advent and broad adoption of the e-reader the scope of available works to be reviewed has increased exponentially making the job of the reviewer ever more challenging as the selection of works becomes vast beyond belief. My goal is simple – to deliver a fair and honest review. I take this very seriously as I respect my readers and they can depend on my appraisal of fiction as well as various crafts and cooking. My main focus is fiction but occasionally something from another genre catches my eye. Reviews

Re: Heartache Falls (11:34am April 28, 2011):

Okay I'm hooked - definitely have three more books to add to my must read list. Dogs love us unconditionally - you can't really say that about anyone or anything else. My Maxwell will always have a special place in our hearts along with our Coco and Shani. Now we have a rescue grand doggie Annie who loves her little girl sooo much.
