Romance Small Town | Romance Suspense

Family drama, generational stories, missed opportunities, robberies, all rolled into one big tale between two covers by Sharon Sala. Page by page and chapter by chapter, MIDNIGHT brings the reader further into a complicated affair of individual experiences. We get to meet some amazing characters that hopefully evolve over time. You know the good, the bad and the ugly types.

It all starts with the mother of three boys, who gets into something way over her head. Her involvement in a heist has a truly short life. And as time passes, we become engulfed in the lives of these sons as we see them now as adults. The men came home to take care of their father’s recovery after being shot by unknown assailants at his bar. The road to his recovery is going to take a while. He was indeed lucky that his next- door neighbor was concerned when she couldn’t contact him. Now his boys are getting involved in finding out just what happened. Was it a robbery gone wrong, but nothing was missing? In a very small town, crimes are minimal, and so when something like this happens, all bets are off.

As is Sharon Sala’s practice, we are off and running from the first page in this crime story with some really intriguing twists. We know many of the facts from the start. It’s the discovery that keeps you on the edge of your seat, waiting for the characters to figure it out. Nothing sleight of hand here. Just the uncovering of a year- old crime that sort of went unsolved. And the painful acknowledgement of a life cut short.

Fans of Sharon Sala are going to love MIDNIGHT. And this book will certainly garner a lot of attention and win this prolific author more fans.

SUMMARY

Crossroads, Texas, is a town of second chances in this new small town romance series from Sharon Sala, New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of the Blessings, Georgia series.

Asher Kingston is a special investigator for the Texas Attorney General's office in Austin, TX. When he gets a call that his dad has been injured in an attempted robbery of his bar, he rounds up his two brothers and heads back to Crossroads. During visiting hours at the hospital, Nora Borden, Asher's girlfriend from high school, runs into him and they rekindle their friendship. Nora is a high-profile computer tech with a high security clearance; Asher claims his job too unpredictable for relationships. But before long, their romance rekindles as well. Together they unravel a case long gone cold to find out what happened in the bar late that night and to clear the Kingston family name.
